About the role
In this role, you will be the cornerstone of Sigma's content marketing efforts, overseeing a diverse range of materials including blogs, videos, and product announcements. Your primary goal will be to elevate the quality of all published content while developing streamlined processes that allow for scalable content production without sacrificing the integrity of the brand's voice or factual accuracy. This position demands close collaboration with product managers and engineers to ensure that all content is technically sound and precise.

What you'll do
- Take charge of the Sigma blog, managing the editorial calendar to ensure that all published content meets established brand standards and guidelines.
- Edit a high volume of blog articles, ensuring they are not only technically accurate but also engaging and accessible to the target audience.
- Oversee the AEO content calendar, working closely with Sigma's AEO contractor to guarantee that five AEO blogs are edited and published each week.
- Encourage contributions from internal teams by managing the content calendar and providing guidance to employees on drafting thought leadership articles.
- Collaborate with marketing leadership to assist in ghostwriting for executives and maintain relationships with external writers and contributors.
- Play a key role in shaping content strategy by proposing innovative ideas that extend Sigma's outreach beyond traditional blogs and videos.
- Analyze performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of content and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure that all content aligns with SEO best practices to enhance organic visibility and drive traffic to the Sigma website.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in content creation and editing, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities to inform content strategy and maintain Sigma's competitive edge.
- Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to gather insights and expertise that enrich content quality and relevance.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in content marketing, ideally within a B2B SaaS or technology sector during a growth phase.
- Exceptional editing skills, with a proven ability to balance technical accuracy with an engaging writing style.
- Familiarity with data, analytics, applications, or AI, enabling you to edit content with authority and know when to engage subject matter experts for deeper insights.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively managing an editorial program or blog, ensuring timely and high-quality content delivery.
- Solid understanding of SEO and AEO principles, with a history of driving organic growth and improving search engine visibility.
- Experience in overseeing contract writers, freelancers, or agencies, along with mentoring internal subject matter experts.
- Ability to collaborate with product managers and engineers to ensure technical accuracy in all content produced.
- A strong sense of brand identity and voice; experience in creating and implementing editorial style guidelines is a plus.
- Self-motivated and creative, with the ability to develop strategies and initiatives independently.

Practical notes
The salary for this position ranges from $155,000 to $185,000 annually, with potential adjustments based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. This role is eligible for stock options and comes with a comprehensive benefits package that supports employee well-being.
