What you'll do
- Lead and supervise all nursing operations and per diem staff within your designated region, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to protocols.
- Travel extensively to provide on-site study coverage, aligning nursing expertise with the specific needs of various clinical trials.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) regulations, maintaining the highest standards of clinical research.
- Manage a team of direct reports, including conducting performance evaluations and documenting meetings to track progress and address any issues.
- Design and implement training programs and resource materials tailored to specific study protocols for nursing staff, enhancing their capabilities and knowledge.
- Act as the primary subject matter expert on nursing processes for study teams, providing guidance and support throughout the research process.
- Oversee the accuracy of data entry within the Science 37 platform, ensuring that all information is correctly documented and easily accessible.
- Engage in all phases of study management, including initiation, execution, and closure, to ensure seamless operations and successful outcomes.
- Conduct internal audits of nursing documentation to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges and enhance the overall efficiency of nursing operations within the organization.
Requirements
- A valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in your home state is mandatory.
- A minimum of one year of supervisory experience is required, with three or more years preferred.
- At least five years of clinical or research experience in a relevant field is necessary.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be current and valid.
- A valid driver's license and access to a dependable vehicle are essential for travel.
- The ability to lift equipment weighing up to 15 kg is required.
- Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time, which may include nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in English, with strong communication skills, is essential for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.
Nice to have
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree is preferred.
- Compact nursing licensure is a plus, allowing for easier mobility across state lines.
- Previous experience in a decentralized clinical trial environment would be advantageous.
Skills & tools
- Clinical skills: Proficient in venipuncture, IV placement, medication administration, ECG interpretation, vital sign monitoring, and emergency care procedures.
- Software proficiency: Familiarity with MS Office Suite, Google applications, and proprietary research platforms is essential for daily operations.
- Competencies: Strong problem-solving abilities, effective cross-functional collaboration skills, experience in training and education, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
