About the role
Samsara is seeking a Sr. Business Operations Analyst to own the analytics and strategy for the post-sales organization, focusing on renewals and customer success. The hire will serve as the primary data expert for an assigned segment, translating complex datasets into clear insights for leadership and frontline managers. This role requires ownership of end-to-end analytical workflows, from data extraction to actionable recommendations that directly influence retention and growth. The position will optimize standardized processes across renewals and CS teams, driving adherence and closing operational gaps. You will build and maintain key reporting on utilization, adoption, and expansion to support revenue retention strategies. Collaboration with cross-functional leaders will be central to shaping the future of physical operations through data-driven decisions. This role is critical for ensuring the scalability and effectiveness of our post-sales operations as we continue to transform global industries.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Own analytics and trend reporting for an assigned segment or workstream within renewals and customer success, serving as the go-to analyst for leadership and frontline managers on that area.
- Extract and reconcile data from Salesforce, financial systems, and customer success platforms, resolving discrepancies and transforming complex datasets into reliable, decision-ready analysis.
- Design post-sales processes and drive adherence across the renewals and CS teams - monitoring compliance, flagging drift, and partnering with team leads to close gaps.
- Build and maintain reporting on utilization, product adoption, and expansion for the existing customer base to inform retention and growth strategy.
- Partner with Sales Strategy, Business Operations, Finance, and Customer Success leadership to translate data into recommendations that improve renewal rates, reduce churn, and grow revenue retention.
- Support quarterly/annual reporting on post-sales performance - bookings, pipeline health, and key trends - for business reviews and leadership presentations.
- Maintain a working understanding of renewals and CS operating models to identify risk, inconsistency, and improvement opportunities across the post-sales org.
- Leverage SQL and advanced analytical techniques to explore large datasets, uncovering trends that drive strategic initiatives.
- Translate technical findings into clear narratives and visualizations that enable stakeholders to make confident, data-backed decisions.
- Proactively identify gaps in data integrity and advocate for improvements in data collection and governance across the post-sales ecosystem.
- Collaborate with product teams to align analytics with evolving product offerings and customer workflows.
- Contribute to the development of dashboards that provide real-time visibility into key renewal and adoption metrics.
- Support special projects that require deep analytical rigor and cross-functional coordination.
- Document methodologies and assumptions to ensure transparency and reproducibility of analyses.
Requirements
- 2+ years in management consulting, Sales/Business Operations, financial analysis, or another highly quantitative role.
- Comfort working with large datasets to build models, run analyses, and surface trends.
- Familiarity with Salesforce, Tableau, or a similar sales/CS tech stack.
- Post-sales experience (renewals or customer success) a plus, not required.
- Experience designing or driving adoption of operational processes a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication, including comfort influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
- Proactive, adaptable, comfortable operating with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship now or in the future.
- Must reside outside of the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area.

- Understanding of IoT data platforms and how they integrate with enterprise software.
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships in a matrixed environment.
- Background in industries such as agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, or manufacturing.
