About the role
Salsify is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join their team and contribute to shaping the future of their product information management platform. This role centers on driving product strategy, defining feature roadmaps, and ensuring that the solutions delivered meet the needs of customers managing large volumes of product content. The Senior Product Manager will take ownership of key product areas, working hand in hand with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to turn ideas into shipped features. You will be responsible for understanding customer pain points, prioritizing work based on impact, and guiding products from initial concept through to successful launch and ongoing iteration.

What you'll do
Define and maintain the product roadmap for assigned product areas within the Salsify platform, balancing short-term wins with long-term strategic goals.
Partner with engineering and design teams to translate business objectives and customer needs into clear, actionable product requirements and specifications.
Conduct customer interviews, surveys, and market research to uncover insights that shape product decisions and feature prioritization.
Analyze competitive offerings and industry trends to identify gaps in the market and opportunities for Salsify to differentiate its product.
Write comprehensive product requirement documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria that give development teams the clarity they need to build correctly.
Lead agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives to keep delivery teams aligned and moving forward.
Track product key performance indicators and use data-driven analysis to evaluate feature success and inform future iterations.
Act as the primary liaison between product, sales, customer success, and executive stakeholders, communicating progress, trade-offs, and strategic direction clearly.
Collaborate with go-to-market teams to ensure product launches are well-coordinated and that sales enablement materials reflect the latest product capabilities.
Champion a customer-first mindset across the organization, advocating for user needs in every prioritization and investment discussion.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience as a product manager with a history of delivering products that achieved measurable business outcomes.
Strong grasp of product management frameworks, including roadmap development, prioritization models, and agile methodologies.
Ability to work effectively with engineering teams to articulate requirements, negotiate scope, and resolve technical trade-offs.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear documentation and present to diverse audiences.
Experience conducting customer research and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative data into actionable product insights.
A self-directed working style with the capacity to manage multiple workstreams and shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
A bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, or a related discipline is typically expected.
Several years of progressive experience in product management or a closely related role is required for this senior-level position.
Nice to have
Prior experience in product information management, e-commerce, or a related domain where structured product data is central.
Familiarity with B2B SaaS business models and the unique challenges of serving enterprise customers with complex product needs.
Exposure to working within global, distributed organizations where cross-timezone collaboration is a regular part of the workflow.
Knowledge of experimentation frameworks, A/B testing, and analytics platforms used to validate product hypotheses before committing engineering resources.
Skills & tools
Proficiency in product roadmap and prioritization frameworks such as RICE scoring, MoSCoW method, or weighted scoring models.
Hands-on experience with agile and Scrum methodologies, including sprint cycles, backlog management, and velocity tracking.
Skill in crafting user stories, acceptance criteria, and product briefs that bridge the gap between business intent and technical execution.
Comfort with data analysis using tools such as SQL, Tableau, Mixpanel, or similar platforms to inform product decisions.
Familiarity with customer discovery techniques, including structured interviews, usability testing, and survey design for gathering user feedback.
Working knowledge of project and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Aha, or equivalent product management platforms.
Practical notes
This position is based in Portugal and requires availability during local business hours to coordinate effectively with the broader team.
The role is full-time and reports to a senior product leader within the Salsify organization.
Candidates should expect to collaborate with a distributed workforce spanning multiple offices and time zones on a regular basis.
