About the role
Ruby-labs is actively seeking a Senior User Acquisition Manager to assume ownership of optimizing Google Ads performance across a diverse portfolio of consumer products. This role requires a strategic mindset to manage extensive Search campaigns spanning multiple countries and languages, with a primary focus on achieving profitable growth while strictly adhering to CPA and ROI targets. The individual in this position will be responsible for establishing data-driven targets and defending them rigorously based on performance evidence. Collaboration with data analytics and creative teams will be central to ensuring high-quality execution as the company scales its global operations. This position demands a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks within the advertising ecosystem before they impact performance. The Senior User Acquisition Manager will play a critical role in aligning user acquisition strategies with overall unit economics and product modifications. Success in this role will be defined by the ability to translate complex data into actionable campaign optimizations that drive sustainable growth.

What you'll do
- Utilize data-driven insights to establish and defend target CPAs for each country, leveraging D7 and LTV cohort ROI data to inform decisions and optimize performance.
- Continuously optimize campaigns by conducting deep analysis of search terms, managing negative keywords, adjusting bids strategically, enhancing Quality Scores, and strengthening Ad Relevance.
- Ensure that all advertising content strictly adheres to compliance standards and brand safety protocols, actively avoiding prohibited claims, misleading information, or trademark infringements.
- Collaborate closely with analytics, business intelligence, creative, and product teams to align user acquisition strategies with overall unit economics and adapt to any product modifications.
- Monitor campaign performance meticulously and provide actionable insights and recommendations for ongoing improvements and strategic pivots.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in advertising policies to proactively address potential compliance risks and maintain operational excellence.
- Manage the full campaign lifecycle for Google Ads, encompassing structure, targeting, and budget allocation to maximize efficiency.
- Analyze D7 and LTV cohort ROI data to evaluate the true profitability of user acquisition channels and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for campaign structures, targeting logic, and optimization processes.
- Conduct thorough analysis of search term reports to identify high-intent keywords and irrelevant queries for negative list refinement.
- Lead testing initiatives on ad copy and landing page alignment to improve conversion rates and Quality Scores.
- Allocate budgets dynamically across countries and campaigns based on real-time performance data and forecasted ROI.
- Partner with native-language reviewers in international markets to ensure compliance and cultural relevance of advertising assets.
- Generate detailed performance reports that highlight key metrics, trends, and opportunities for scale.
- Implement best practices for RSA optimization, ensuring headlines and descriptions are tested for maximum relevance and click-through rates.
- Utilize audience segmentation to tailor messaging and bidding strategies for distinct user groups and lifecycle stages.
Requirements
- Possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in managing Google Ads campaigns at a significant scale, ideally with six-figure monthly budgets, specifically within sectors such as consumer subscription, direct-to-consumer (D2C), or performance marketing.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the Google Ads platform, including its API and scripting capabilities, with proven experience in bulk campaign management, advanced bidding strategies, RSA optimization, and sophisticated audience segmentation.
- Exhibit strong analytical skills, with a solid understanding of CPA, ROAS, and LTV cohort calculations to make informed, data-backed decisions.
- Have a proven track record of successfully entering new international markets, which includes managing geographical and language expansions and collaborating effectively with native-language reviewers to ensure strict compliance.
- Show a proactive approach to identifying ad policy and compliance risks, with the ability to foresee potential issues before they escalate into major problems.
- Display exceptional attention to detail, capable of managing complex campaign structures that involve numerous campaigns and a high volume of ad groups.
- Maintain proficiency in written English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with global teams across various time zones.
- Understand the fundamentals of unit economics and how they apply to user acquisition performance.
- Commit to adhering to brand safety guidelines and regulatory compliance in all advertising activities.
Nice to have
- Bring experience with Microsoft/Bing Ads and/or Meta Ads in addition to Google Ads to broaden the multi-channel acquisition strategy.
- Show familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Omni, Looker, or Tableau for conducting in-depth cohort and ROI analyses.
- Have experience working with AI models, such as Claude or OpenAI, to enhance campaign strategies and automate optimizations.
- Possess Google Ads certifications that formally demonstrate advanced expertise in the platform and current knowledge of best practices.
Practical notes
- This position is fully remote; however, candidates must reside within approximately +/- 4 hours of Central European Time (CET) to facilitate effective collaboration.

- Employment will be structured as a flexible independent contractor agreement, allowing for adaptability in work arrangements.
- The interview process typically consists of a recruiter screening lasting around 40 minutes, followed by a technical interview of approximately 90 minutes, and concludes with a final interview of about 60 minutes.
