About the role
You will own the end to end lifecycle of features within the AppFlows DRaaS product, translating ambiguous requirements into robust technical designs that directly impact our customers recovery outcomes. You will partner closely with product managers and infrastructure teams to define the architecture of new cloud native services that enable seamless application migration. Your work will ensure that the orchestration layer reliably coordinates complex recovery workflows across hybrid environments. You will be responsible for writing clean, testable code that forms the foundation of our scalable disaster recovery solutions. You will actively contribute to code reviews and design discussions, helping to maintain high engineering standards across the team. You will diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges, turning complex problems into elegant and maintainable implementations. You will mentor junior engineers by providing guidance and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. You will stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to bring innovative ideas into our disaster recovery platform.

What you'll do
- Architect and deliver new components for Disaster Recovery as a Service that unify on premises and cloud workflows.
- Implement resilient backend services using Scala, C++, or Java while enforcing strict unit testing and quality gates.
- Analyze large scale distributed system requirements and translate them into practical implementation strategies.
- Optimize application migration pathways to enhance performance and reliability across diverse infrastructures.
- Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to refine product specifications and prioritize technical debt.
- Build intuitive interfaces for internal tools that simplify recovery orchestration for operations teams.
- Integrate with public cloud ecosystems such as Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and Azure to expand deployment flexibility.
- Leverage VMware technology stack insights to ensure compatibility and smooth integration with existing virtual environments.
- Conduct performance testing and troubleshooting to identify bottlenecks in recovery workflows.
- Document system designs and operational procedures to support long term maintainability and knowledge sharing.
- Mentor team members through code reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching sessions.
- Drive the adoption of best practices for security, scalability, and observability in all delivered features.
- Participate in on call rotations to support production incidents and improve system reliability.
- Continuously evaluate emerging tools and frameworks to modernize our development pipeline.
Requirements
- Hold a degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Possess 2 to 5 years of professional experience in product development or software engineering roles.
- Demonstrate the ability to devise scalable and effective solutions for complex technical challenges.
- Show eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies, frameworks, and programming paradigms.
- Exhibit proficiency in backend programming languages such as Scala, C++, or Java.
- Have essential experience in backend development, including API design and integration.
- Familiarity with designing and developing large distributed systems is preferred.
- Understand core concepts of distributed computing, networking, and data storage systems.
- Commit to writing high quality code with a focus on test coverage and maintainability.

Practical notes
The salary range for this position is between $152,400 and $228,700, with additional opportunities for bonuses, equity, and benefits. The final salary will be influenced by factors such as location, skills, experience, and education.
