About the role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Identity Infrastructure team in Palo Alto, CA. This role involves developing and enhancing solutions for protecting Active Directory and Okta data, ensuring high-quality support for our customers. You will work closely with various teams to address complex engineering challenges and contribute to the growth of our innovative products.

What you'll do
- Develop and improve existing products while assisting with customer proof of concepts and ensuring timely support.
- Take ownership of backend services that integrate with data from on-premises data centers and cloud providers.
- Ensure the scalability of technical solutions and meet customer demands effectively.
- Identify software bottlenecks and drive continuous product innovation.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to foster the growth of team members.
- Influence design and planning processes beyond individual projects, contributing strategically.
- Propose and implement process improvements to enhance team productivity.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- More than 6 years of professional experience with a strong track record of solving complex technical issues.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Go, Java, C/C++, Scala, or Python.
- Familiarity with cloud services, particularly AWS and Azure.
- Experience in designing and developing large-scale systems, with a solid understanding of distributed systems and data storage.
- Proven ability to mentor other engineers in designing and implementing scalable solutions.
- Experience in customer engagement for issue resolution.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of Windows Server and its interaction with Active Directory.
- Familiarity with Active Directory or Entra-ID concepts.
- Experience within the Microsoft Windows ecosystem.
- Understanding of Identity and Access Management (IAM) concepts, including services like OKTA or AWS IAM.
- Awareness of identity security concepts such as users, groups, and roles.
Skills & tools
- Proficient in programming languages: Go, Java, C/C++, Scala, Python.
- Experience with cloud platforms: AWS, Azure.
- Familiarity with distributed systems and data storage technologies.
- Understanding of Active Directory and IAM services.

This position is eligible for a salary range of $188,500 to $282,700 USD, depending on location and experience. The role also includes potential bonuses, equity, and benefits.
