About the role
Rilla is seeking a Contract Accountant who will own core accounting processes and drive the financial close for the company. In this capacity, you will manage revenue recognition in compliance with GAAP and oversee critical functions such as AP, accruals, and fixed assets. You will play a key role in building the internal controls and reporting infrastructure required to scale our finance operations. This role involves direct support of annual audits, tax filings, and coordination with external advisors to ensure compliance. You will partner with operations, finance, and leadership to provide budgeting, forecasting, and strategic analysis. Additionally, you will drive process improvements and automation within finance systems to increase efficiency. The role also includes assisting with cash flow management, forecasting, and supporting benefits administration as the team expands.

What you'll do
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and annual close - journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Manage revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP, including subscription and multi-period arrangements.
- Oversee AP, accruals, prepaid expenses, and fixed assets.
- Assist with financial statements and internal management reports.
- Support annual audits, tax filings, and coordination with external auditors and advisors.
- Drive finance system implementations and workflow automation.
- Assist with cash flow management and forecasting.
- Maintain and strengthen accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Partner with operations, finance, and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc analyses.
- Support benefits administration as the team grows.
- Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency and help us scale.

- 2+ years of experience at an accounting firm, ideally with SaaS clients.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting practices.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and NetSuite.
- Advanced spreadsheet and financial modeling skills.
- CPA certification and a degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to roll up sleeves and work hands-on in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
