Key facts
What you'll do
- Oversee the setup and ongoing maintenance of client accounts, ensuring all account information is accurate, timely, and compliant with internal and regulatory standards.
- Record financial transactions on the trade date, including trade capture, income and expense accruals, and other related activities, supporting the accurate reflection of client portfolios.
- Assist with end-of-period closing processes, ensuring all trade and position data are correctly reconciled and reported.
- Manage post-trade workflows, including communication with brokers, ensuring timely and accurate trade confirmations, matching, and allocations to facilitate T+1 settlement.
- Handle both mandatory and voluntary corporate actions, including dividends, mergers, and other corporate events, ensuring all activities are properly reconciled and documented according to client instructions and compliance standards.
- Maintain and update daily pricing, foreign exchange rates, and security master data, addressing vendor exceptions and discrepancies based on customer guidelines and internal controls.
- Conduct daily reconciliations of positions, cash balances, and tax lots, proactively investigating and resolving discrepancies to ensure data integrity.
- Generate and analyze daily and monthly performance reports, ensuring compliance with Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and addressing complex return inquiries from clients or internal teams.
- Respond promptly to operational inquiries, providing data-driven insights to improve client outcomes and platform functionality.
- Utilize artificial intelligence and machine learning tools to develop scalable workflows, automate manual processes, and improve operational efficiency across the team.
- Collaborate with technology teams to implement process improvements and troubleshoot issues related to trade processing and settlement.
- Support the onboarding of new clients and systems, ensuring smooth integration and adherence to operational procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training and development initiatives to stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies relevant to investment operations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience working in investment operations, middle-office, or back-office roles within asset management, banking, or financial services firms.
- Strong knowledge of portfolio accounting, reconciliation processes, performance reporting, and trade lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex operational workflows with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proven problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently investigate and resolve discrepancies and exceptions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with clients, brokers, custodians, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in Google Apps, especially Google Sheets, or Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Interest in emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence and automation tools, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to identifying operational issues and implementing solutions.
- Familiarity with trade lifecycle management systems and reconciliation platforms is preferred but not mandatory.

- Experience working with enterprise SaaS platforms or fintech solutions.
- Knowledge of collaboration tools such as Slack, JIRA, Confluence, or Kantata to facilitate team communication and project management.
- Exposure to APIs, cloud computing platforms like AWS, or other cloud-based systems used in financial technology.
- Progress toward professional certifications such as CFA or CPA, indicating a commitment to professional development.
- Prior experience working in a regulated environment with strict compliance and control standards.
- Familiarity with ITAR regulations or other export control requirements relevant to financial data handling.

- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
- The role follows a schedule from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM PT, providing end-of-day trade support for clients and internal teams.
- The position is based on-site at the specified locations in Reno, NV, or San Ramon, CA, and requires physical presence in the office.
