What you'll do

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, strategy teams, and fellow engineers to provide technical insights and contribute to the overall design of trading systems.
• Take ownership of the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, system design, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
• Develop and enhance scalable, high-performance applications utilizing AWS cloud services and modern backend technologies, ensuring they meet the demands of real-time trading environments.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot production issues, investigating technical problems, and providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime and ensure smooth trading operations.
• Work closely with internal teams to identify root causes of incidents, implement fixes, and improve system stability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, sharing expertise and best practices to foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
• Contribute to architectural decisions, balancing immediate operational needs with long-term scalability and security considerations.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with stakeholders across engineering, product, and support teams to ensure alignment and transparency.

• Engage in proactive monitoring and performance tuning of applications to optimize system throughput and latency.
• Collaborate with QA and operations teams to ensure comprehensive testing and smooth deployment cycles.
• Uphold security standards and compliance requirements relevant to trading technology, including adherence to relevant regulations and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related technical field.
• At least 8 years of professional experience in software engineering, with a proven track record of designing, developing, and supporting production applications.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience working with Java or Kotlin, or an equivalent modern backend programming language, demonstrating deep expertise in backend development.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD), and SOLID principles, with practical experience applying these concepts in complex systems.
• Hands-on experience building and maintaining cloud-native applications, preferably on AWS, including familiarity with cloud services and deployment strategies.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills, capable of analyzing complex technical issues, identifying root causes, and implementing effective solutions quickly.
• Basic knowledge of web front-end technologies such as React, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with a willingness to contribute to full-stack development when needed.
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, balancing urgent incident resolution with strategic architectural improvements.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and convey technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and delivering high-quality results under pressure.

• Knowledge of financial messaging protocols such as FIX and SWIFT, and their application within trading systems.
