Reconciliation Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily reconciliation tasks that are critical to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our investment data. Your work will involve investigating discrepancies, resolving operational issues, and collaborating with various internal teams to maintain seamless investment operations. What you'll do
- Oversee and execute daily reconciliation activities related to cash balances, security positions, tax lots, and securities to support the firm's clients and internal teams.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies identified during reconciliation processes, ensuring that all data aligns accurately before the start of each trading day.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve automation solutions to streamline manual reconciliation tasks, reducing errors and increasing operational efficiency.
- Manage account administration functions, including onboarding new client accounts, updating existing account information, and ensuring compliance with client directives and internal policies.
- Record and process financial transactions on a trade-date basis, including income and expense accruals, and facilitate end-of-period closing activities to ensure accurate reporting.
- Coordinate post-trade workflows, including broker communications, trade confirmations, and settlement processes, to ensure all transactions settle correctly on a T+1 basis.
- Supervise and reconcile corporate actions, both mandatory and voluntary, ensuring that all activities are properly documented and reflected in client accounts.
- Maintain daily security pricing, foreign exchange rates, and security master data, resolving discrepancies with vendors and internal data sources in accordance with client policies.
- Perform daily reconciliations of positions, cash, and tax lots, proactively researching and documenting the resolution of discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
- Generate and analyze daily and monthly performance reports, ensuring compliance with Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) and addressing complex return inquiries from clients or internal teams.
- Respond promptly to operational inquiries, providing data-driven insights and solutions to improve client outcomes and platform functionality.
- Utilize AI and automation tools to design scalable workflows, automate routine manual tasks, and enhance overall operational processes.
- Collaborate with technology teams to identify opportunities for system enhancements and participate in testing new tools or updates to existing systems.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and internal controls to ensure operational compliance and risk mitigation.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members, sharing knowledge of reconciliation procedures, automation tools, and operational standards.
- Contribute to process documentation, control procedures, and audit readiness activities to ensure ongoing compliance and operational excellence.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Between 3 and 5 years of experience working in investment operations, middle-office, or back-office functions within the financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of portfolio accounting, reconciliation processes, performance reporting, and trade lifecycle management.
- Demonstrated ability to investigate and resolve operational discrepancies independently and efficiently.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy, timeliness, and data integrity.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify root causes of discrepancies.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external vendors.
- Proficiency in Google Apps, MS Office, especially spreadsheets, and familiarity with automation tools or scripting is a plus.
- An interest in emerging technologies, including AI-driven tools, and a willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities with a high degree of organization.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards relevant to investment operations.
- Experience working with reconciliation and performance measurement software is desirable.
- Ability to adapt to evolving technology and process improvements, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive attitude.
Nice to have
- Experience working with enterprise SaaS platforms or fintech solutions.
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, JIRA, Confluence, or Kantata to facilitate team communication and project management.
- Exposure to APIs, cloud computing platforms like AWS, or other cloud-based systems that support automation and data integration.
- Professional certifications such as CFA or CPA, or progress toward obtaining these credentials, are advantageous.
- Prior experience working in a regulated environment or with compliance standards related to investment management.
- Knowledge of ITAR regulations or other compliance standards relevant to the firm's operations.

Practical notes
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship. The company does not sponsor visas for this position. The role is based on-site at our New York, NY office, and candidates should be prepared to work in this location. The salary range for this position is approximately $101,500 to $127,000, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible to participate in the Company Stock Plan, subject to the terms of the applicable Stock Option Agreement.
