About the role
The Accounting Systems Analyst serves as the central accounting subject-matter expert for Remarcable's internal teams and customers. This individual is responsible for translating complex accounting concepts and ERP functionality into practical, construction-specific workflows. The role owns the design of training, enablement, and documentation that clarifies financial data flows within the platform. You will deliver live and virtual sessions that demystify integration behavior and exception scenarios for finance teams. A core part of this position is partnering with Product and Engineering to validate accounting workflows and ensure strict alignment with construction accounting principles. You will lead workshops focused on AP, AR, GL, Job Costing, WIP, retainage, and revenue recognition to meet contractor needs. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys teaching, building curriculum, and being the trusted accounting voice inside a fast-growing SaaS environment.

What you'll do
- Deliver live and virtual training sessions for customers and internal teams on accounting workflows, construction-specific practices, ERP integrations, and financial data flow.
- Develop training materials, documentation, process guides, and best-practice resources tailored specifically to construction accounting requirements.
- Conduct workshops focused on AP, AR, GL, Job Costing, WIP, retainage, and revenue workflows, aligned directly to the needs of contractors.
- Build and maintain an enablement curriculum that supports onboarding, expansions, and ongoing education for accounting teams.
- Act as the organization's definitive accounting workflow subject-matter expert across all internal and customer interactions.
- Translate detailed accounting requirements into appropriate configurations and rules within the Remarcable platform.
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to validate accounting workflows and confirm adherence to construction accounting principles.
- Help customers understand how their accounting data maps into Remarcable and through connected systems such as Sage, Trimble, and Foundations.
- Explain integration behavior, exception scenarios, and data transformation rules that are specific to construction accounting environments.
- Support onboarding teams with critical activities including general ledger mapping, cost code structures, vendor workflows, PO and receipt and invoice flows, and job costing alignment.
- Provide clear accounting logic and workflow context when support cases involve financial processes and system behavior.
- Create comprehensive documentation for accounting workflows, integration logic, construction best practices, and training curriculum.
- Collaborate with Support, Customer Success, Supplier Relations, Engineering, and Product teams to ensure consistent messaging and process clarity.
- Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives that elevate accounting and construction workflow literacy across the entire organization.
Requirements
- Strong communicator capable of teaching accounting concepts clearly to diverse audiences with varying levels of technical familiarity.
- Able to translate dense accounting language into clear system workflows that non-technical stakeholders can understand.
- Comfortable presenting, training, and leading discussions with both internal teams and external customers in a professional setting.
- Naturally curious and proactive in understanding complex financial processes and construction-specific operational workflows.
- Organized, articulate, and confident in building high-quality documentation and structured training programs.
- Strong understanding of General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) principles and practices.
- Experience in construction or electrical contracting accounting is nice to have, though not mandatory for this role.
- Hands-on experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and their core modules.
- An Accounting degree, minor, professional designation, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Nice to have
- Background in construction, electrical contracting, distribution, or material supply environments.
- Prior experience working within SaaS platforms and understanding of subscription-based business models.
Practical notes
This is a full-time position based in Vancouver, BC. The role involves in-person collaboration within a team setting and may require travel to support key customers or industry events when necessary. Employment eligibility to work in Canada is required, and visa sponsorship will not be available for this role. Please note that the work is not eligible for remote or hybrid arrangements outside the Vancouver area.
