UX Design Team - Researcher
Job description
About the role
UX Design Researcher at Redwood Software
Overview and mission
Redwood Software empowers customers with lights-out automation for mission-critical business processes. The company leads a full stack automation fabric solution designed specifically for ERP, leveraging a SaaS-based composable automation platform. Redwood believes in the transformative power of automation to orchestrate, manage, and monitor workflows across any application, service, or server, whether in the cloud or on premises. Its global team of automation experts and customer success engineers delivers solutions and support that create space for customers to imagine and define their future.
Role focus
You will own the end-to-end design of features and workflows for RunMyJobs, the enterprise automation platform serving finance and IT teams. The role involves researching user needs, shaping intuitive experiences for complex automation workflows, and building the design system from the ground up. You will establish patterns and components that scale across Redwood's product portfolio while collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and customers.
Location and engagement
The position is based in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is a full-time role with a compensation of 24 LPA.
Key responsibilities
You will chart user needs by conducting interviews and usability sessions for complex automation scenarios. This includes architecting wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity screens that balance ambition with technical constraints. You will define reusable components and patterns that scale across Redwood's offerings, partnering with product managers to refine scope and translate research into clear design specifications.
Design system and standards will be advanced by contributing to a new system for Redwood's portfolio. You will create reusable components, patterns, and guidelines, document interaction standards, and collaborate with engineers on component implementation and design tokens. Advocacy for design consistency and accessibility across products will be part of this effort.
Collaboration and communication will involve presenting design work to cross-functional stakeholders, articulating design rationale with data and user insights, and incorporating feedback. You will work closely with engineers to ensure feasibility, participate in agile ceremonies, maintain design velocity alongside engineering sprints, and mentor junior designers while sharing best practices.
User research and insights
You will plan and conduct user research activities such as interviews, usability tests, and observation sessions. Synthesizing findings into actionable insights and design recommendations will support building empathy for enterprise users, including finance teams, IT admins, and automation engineers. You will validate design decisions with real users and iterate based on feedback, while partnering with product management and customer success to understand evolving user needs.
Product design and delivery responsibilities include owning end-to-end UX design for entire features and workflows within RunMyJobs. You will design intuitive interfaces for scenarios such as job scheduling, workflow orchestration, and monitoring. Creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that respect technical constraints will be essential. Daily collaboration with product managers and engineers will aim to ship high-quality experiences, with participation in agile ceremonies and design QA to ensure accurate production delivery.
Design system contribution
You will contribute to building a new design system for Redwood's product portfolio. This includes creating reusable components, patterns, and guidelines that scale across features, considering existing design artifacts and evolving them into a cohesive system. Documentation of design patterns and interaction standards will occur alongside engineers, with attention to component implementation and design tokens.
Collaboration and communication practices
Presenting design work to cross-functional stakeholders and incorporating their feedback will be routine. You will partner with product managers to define feature scope and success metrics, and work closely with engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible. Defending design decisions using data and user insights, mentoring junior designers, and leveraging AI tools daily to accelerate design exploration, content generation, and workflow efficiency will be part of the routine.
Required experience and skills
You are expected to bring five to seven years of UX experience focused on B2B SaaS or enterprise software products. A strong portfolio should display full-stack UX capabilities, including research, interaction design, visual design, and prototyping. Demonstrated deep experience designing data-dense interfaces for finance or operations workflows is required.
Fluency in design systems, component thinking, and accessibility principles must be evident. You should work effectively with engineers, product managers, and customer success teams, committing to daily collaboration within agile ceremonies and sprint cadences.
Nice to have qualifications
Experience with ERP, automation, or workflow orchestration products is valued. Comfort using AI tools to accelerate design exploration and content generation is considered a plus.
Skills and tools
Proficiency with Figma, Miro, Jira, Confluence, and AI tools will support your contributions.
