Director of Marketing
Job description
About the role
This role owns the complete marketing motion for Redwood Materials, shaping narrative and go-to-market strategy across recovery, reuse, and recycling while leading a compact, high-impact team. You will drive how the company is seen and trusted across critical audiences, orchestrating stories that turn complex material flows into strategic assets. The position is based in Carson City, Nevada, and operates full time with a compensation band anchored at $185,000 to $230,000 annually, reflecting the scope and responsibility of the role. You will define audience insight work that produces clear personas and decision journeys for recycling, materials, and Redwood Energy offerings, ensuring every initiative is grounded in deep market understanding. A core ownership involves architecting positioning and messaging layers that differentiate each business line within a competitive set and across distinct customer segments, from investors to operations leaders. You will design enablement tools such as one-pagers, pitch decks, and RFP response frameworks that empower commercial and business development teams to act with confidence and clarity. Establishing editorial rhythm and campaign frameworks that synchronize content, calendar, and analytics across all channels will be fundamental to maintaining coherence and momentum. Translating complex battery recovery processes into clear, credible stories for investors, partners, and policy audiences is essential, without sacrificing precision or scientific integrity. Protecting the Redwood Materials brand voice, visual standards, and editorial stance across every public and partner channel is a non negotiable duty that safeguards the company's reputation.
The role requires building operating systems for marketing, including asset libraries, campaign structures, and measurement stacks designed to support scalable engagement and measurable impact. You will forge close working relationships with product, business development, policy, and communications to align strategy and execution, ensuring marketing acts as the connective tissue of the organization. Maintaining leadership alignment on strategic priorities ensures marketing initiatives consistently reinforce company level goals around circularity, responsible sourcing, and long term value creation. Closing loops with partners guarantees that joint announcements, commercial milestones, and launches advance shared objectives and reflect a unified market presence. To succeed here, you must bring at least three years of experience in marketing or related roles within a fast growth environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability. Demonstrating the ability to translate technical subjects for non technical stakeholders while preserving accuracy is required, as is comfort with ambiguity and iterative progress. You must show capacity to own multiple workstreams and deliver coherent narratives under tight timelines, balancing strategic vision with operational execution. Understanding go to market motions for technology or industrial companies and applying them to new contexts is expected, along with a commitment to continuous learning and experimentation. Clear written and verbal communication skills are necessary to influence leaders, partners, and external audiences, whether in a boardroom, a workshop, or a policy forum.
Experience in battery, recycling, or circular economy sectors will support context for Redwood Materials mission, though it is not mandatory, allowing space for adjacent expertise and strong fundamentals. No specific tools are prescribed for this position, enabling flexibility in how you leverage martech stacks, data platforms, and collaboration software to achieve outcomes. The role is positioned as a leadership opportunity to define how Redwood Materials presents its work in domestic battery recovery, reuse, and recycling to the world, demanding both strategic depth and operational rigor. You will be expected to manage ambiguity, navigate evolving regulations, and contribute to shaping public understanding of advanced materials recovery. This position is not simply about executing campaigns, but about building durable marketing capabilities that compound in value over time. You will balance narrative ambition with analytical discipline, using insights to refine messaging and optimize engagement across diverse audiences. The work demands intellectual curiosity, empathy for different stakeholders, and the judgment to prioritize initiatives that best serve Redwood's long term vision. Success will be measured by how effectively you align marketing with business outcomes, support commercial growth, and reinforce trust in Redwood as a leader in sustainable materials.
