What you'll do
Manage solvent inventory, tracking usage levels, and reordering supplies to keep production lines stocked and operational at all times.
Prepare and mix solvent solutions according to established formulations and specifications for manufacturing and cleaning applications.
Operate and monitor solvent dispensing equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functioning throughout each shift.
Conduct routine quality checks on solvent batches, verifying concentration, purity, and compatibility with production materials.
Maintain detailed logs and records of solvent usage, waste disposal, and safety incidents for compliance purposes.
Inspect and clean solvent storage containers, tanks, and associated infrastructure to prevent contamination and buildup.
Coordinate with production supervisors to schedule solvent-related tasks around manufacturing workflows and project timelines.
Follow all environmental health and safety protocols when handling, storing, and disposing of chemical solvents.
Troubleshoot issues with solvent delivery systems, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions promptly.
Train team members on safe solvent handling procedures, personal protective equipment use, and emergency response steps.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training in chemical handling is preferred.
Minimum one year of experience working with industrial solvents, chemicals, or manufacturing processes in a production environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of safety data sheets, chemical handling procedures, and workplace health regulations.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents, formulation sheets, and equipment manuals accurately.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to following documented procedures and quality standards consistently.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a production setting.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with team members and reporting observations or concerns clearly.
Willingness to work rotating shifts and adapt to changing production priorities as project demands shift.
Nice to have
Experience with solvent recovery or recycling practices that reduce waste and support sustainability goals.
Familiarity with digital manufacturing environments, including CNC machining, 3D printing, or injection molding workflows.
Certification or training in occupational health and safety, such as OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing chemical storage, transportation, and disposal.
Skills & tools
Proficiency with solvent mixing, measuring, and dispensing equipment and instruments.
Experience using inventory management software or spreadsheets to track chemical supplies and usage.
Familiarity with personal protective equipment, including gloves, goggles, respirators, and protective clothing.
Working knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheet systems and chemical classification standards.
Ability to operate basic laboratory testing tools such as refractometers, hydrometers, and pH meters.
Comfort with digital record-keeping platforms and production tracking systems used in manufacturing settings.
