You will design and deliver engaging learning experiences that equip our teams with the skills needed to adopt new processes and technologies effectively. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to identify training needs and translate business objectives into practical learning solutions. This role owns the end-to-end development of training materials, from initial analysis to execution and evaluation of learning outcomes. You will facilitate interactive sessions and workshops that empower employees to embrace change and adopt new ways of working. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding learners through complex systems and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. What you'll do
Conduct in-depth analysis of role-specific requirements to design targeted training programs that address real business challenges.
Collaborate with department leaders to uncover skill gaps and align learning initiatives with strategic priorities and operational needs.
Develop comprehensive training curricula, including interactive content, assessments, and reference materials that cater to diverse learning styles.
Design and deliver instructor-led sessions and virtual training events that actively engage participants and reinforce key learning objectives.
Create intuitive job aids, process guides, and digital learning resources that support on-the-job application and long-term knowledge retention.
Partner with project managers to integrate training into change programs, ensuring learning milestones are embedded in implementation plans.
Analyze training effectiveness using qualitative and quantitative data to iterate and improve future learning offerings.
Facilitate feedback loops with learners and stakeholders to refine content, adjust pacing, and address emerging needs in a timely manner.
Promote a culture of continuous learning by introducing innovative methods, tools, and best practices that enhance the overall employee experience.
Support the rollout of new technologies and processes through structured learning tracks that enable confident adoption across the organization.
Champion inclusive learning practices by ensuring training materials are accessible, clear, and relevant to a diverse workforce.
Coordinate with internal communications to ensure timely awareness of upcoming training opportunities and upcoming changes.
Leverage adult learning principles to create self-paced resources that empower employees to build skills at the point of need.
Serve as a subject matter expert in training methodologies, contributing to the development of enterprise-wide learning strategies.
Act as an ambassador for the learning function, representing training at cross-functional meetings and organizational initiatives.

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in a related field is preferred.
Ability to spend the majority of the workday in a seated position while using a computer and other standard office equipment.
Capability to lift and move objects up to 10 pounds on a regular basis and up to 20 pounds occasionally.
Access to a private or shared living space suitable for occasional remote work activities if required.
Compliance with company policies, including those related to confidentiality, safety, and professional conduct.
Willingness to participate in occasional after-hours training delivery or support when business needs require.
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal direct supervision.
Commitment to representing Proto Labs in a professional manner during internal and external interactions.
Nice to have
Previous experience in training, learning and development, or instructional design is a plus but not required.
Familiarity with digital manufacturing concepts, additive manufacturing, or injection molding is beneficial.
Experience with learning management systems or content development tools is preferred.
Background in change management or project coordination is a welcome addition.
Understanding of quality management principles and manufacturing processes is a valuable asset.
Practical notes
This is a hybrid position with a schedule of Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the office at our Maple Plain, MN location.
All other work may be completed remotely, based on business needs and team agreements.
Travel is not required for this role.
