About the Role

You will guide families through the profound transition to parenthood. Your responsibilities include educating and guiding expecting and new families throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. You will play a vital role in improving birth outcomes by ensuring families feel supported and empowered during this transformative time. The work involves maintaining timely and accurate documentation for all visits and birth support. You will follow applicable documentation, privacy, quality, and compliance standards for services conducted through Pomelo.

Key Responsibilities

• Educating and guiding expecting and new families throughout the entire childbearing cycle.
• Playing a vital role in improving birth outcomes by ensuring families feel supported and empowered.
• Maintaining timely and accurate documentation for visits and birth support.
• Following applicable documentation, privacy, quality, and compliance standards.
• Partnering with healthcare teams to coordinate needs and align support across virtual and in-person channels.
• Coordinating documentation flow to ensure a clear, compliant trail for every interaction.
• Managing your calendar to serve evenings and weekends, matching energy to family demands.
• Guiding peers within a community network to share insights that elevate care standards for everyone.

Requirements

To join Pomelo's growing network, you must have completed certification and training as a birth and/or full-spectrum doula. You bring in-depth knowledge of pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery to each case. You communicate effectively in speech and writing, connecting with varied backgrounds in person and online. You navigate telehealth platforms, video tools, and electronic documentation systems without difficulty. You remain available for virtual and in-person work across evenings and weekends as families require. You live in or can serve one of our core service areas.

Compensation and Engagement

Credentialing Process & Next Steps

Once you apply, our team will guide you through the credentialing process, which includes:

• Meeting with someone from our recruitment team for a 30-minute video call.
• Providing proof/verification of training/certification, NPI number, and Adult & Infant CPR/First Aid certification.
• Providing proof of Medicaid ID.
• Providing verification of personal liability insurance.
• Completing a background screening.
