About the role
Doula Opportunity
Sedgwick County
We are actively building a network of seasoned birth and full-spectrum doulas dedicated to guiding expecting and new families. Our mission is to provide education and support through a critical life transition. This position operates as a 1099 independent contractor relationship. It is not a W-2 employment position.
As an independent contractor, you are responsible for your own business arrangements. You will not receive employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, workers' compensation, or unemployment insurance. Pomelo Care exists to support your independent practice. We handle client matching, billing, and essential administrative functions on your behalf.
Your Role in the Pomelo Network
Joining our network means committing to family-centered care. Your work will directly influence positive birth experiences by providing consistent support. You will manage detailed records for visits and birth support. Adherence to all documentation, privacy, quality, and compliance standards is required for all services performed through our platform.
Qualifications to Join Our Network
Successful candidates will already hold certification as a birth and/or full-spectrum doula. Your experience must include a deep understanding of the entire childbearing process. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for connecting with diverse families. You must be proficient with telehealth platforms, video conferencing, and electronic documentation.
Your schedule must allow for flexibility, including evenings and weekends, to meet family needs. You must be able to provide services in Sedgwick county, Kansas.
Credentialing and Enrollment Process
After you apply, our recruitment team will contact you for a 30-minute video discussion. You will need to submit verification documents. These include proof of your doula certification, NPI number, and Adult & Infant CPR/First Aid certification. Submission of Medicaid ID and liability insurance is also required. A standard background check will be conducted.
Support for Your Practice
Our goal is to remove barriers between you and your clients. You can concentrate on direct care while we manage the business side. We offer client matching services to align you with families based on your schedule. You will have access to administrative and technical support for our systems. A large peer network of doulas is available for collaboration and learning. You maintain control over your availability and can accept or decline opportunities.
We are committed to building a team as diverse as the families we serve. We welcome applications from individuals of all races, ages, orientations, identities, origins, abilities, and statuses.
