About the role
Plaid is building the future of financial services by providing tools for developers to create new products. This role focuses on expanding Plaid's customer base and increasing revenue. You will manage a key part of the customer journey, from initial sign-up to full product adoption. The position requires ownership of the end-to-end growth funnel for self-serve customers, driving sustainable expansion. You will be responsible for identifying and executing high-impact experiments that move core performance indicators. Collaboration is central to the function, requiring constant alignment with cross-functional partners to solve complex problems. Success in this role is defined by your ability to scale acquisition and activation for long-tail users. You will play a critical part in translating business objectives into actionable product-led growth initiatives.

What you'll do
- Architect and oversee the complete self-service customer lifecycle, meticulously mapping each touchpoint from initial onboarding to deep product integration.
- Spearhead initiatives to broaden the base of active small and medium business (SMB) customers and cultivate engagement among long-tail user segments.
- Design and implement strategic growth mechanisms that incentivize existing customers to upgrade their plans and expand their utilization of Plaid's suite.
- Establish rigorous feedback loops with sales and account management teams to refine customer handoffs and eliminate friction in the conversion pipeline.
- Leverage advanced data analysis and structured experimentation to uncover high-return growth opportunities and validate hypotheses through controlled tests.
- Partner closely with Web, Engineering, Design, Data Science, Marketing, and Sales to collaboratively build, launch, and iterate on new features that impact the bottom line.
- Synthesize complex analytical findings into clear narratives that guide strategic decisions and align stakeholders across the organization.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement by setting benchmarks, monitoring performance, and rapidly iterating based on empirical evidence.
- Develop detailed segmentation strategies that allow for personalized experiences and messaging tailored to distinct customer profiles.
- Act as the primary liaison between technical and commercial teams, ensuring that product roadmaps are informed by real-time market and user behavior data.
Requirements
- Bring a minimum of 5 years of cumulative experience in product management, with a proven track record of delivering measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrate substantial experience with product-led growth strategies within a B2B or API-first company environment.
- Show a history of successfully improving top-of-funnel metrics and driving customer activation through data-informed decisions.
- Possess strong analytical capabilities, specifically expertise in utilizing experiment and funnel data to guide strategic and tactical choices.
- Exhibit a proven ability to work effectively and collaboratively with go-to-market teams, including Sales and Marketing departments.
- Have direct experience creating and executing acquisition strategies specifically targeting SMBs or managing programs for large enterprise accounts.
- Communicate complex concepts and technical trade-offs clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where prioritization and decision-making are required on a daily basis.
- Display strong ownership and a bias for action, taking responsibility for results even when faced with incomplete information.
- Demonstrate proficiency in tools and methodologies related to funnel analysis and customer journey mapping.

Practical notes
This role is based in the New York City Office and operates under a Full-time, Hybrid engagement model. Compensation is variable and ranges between $190.8K and $262.8K annually, supplemented by equity awards. Total compensation reflects factors such as experience, relevant skills, and geographic location.
