Account Manager, Enterprise - UK & Europe

About the role

As an Enterprise Account Manager, you will manage and expand relationships with Plaid's most important clients across the UK and Europe. This role focuses on growth, requiring you to act as a trusted advisor, guiding customers to enhance their product experiences and identify new applications for Plaid's services. You will oversee all commercial aspects, from renewals to expanding product usage.

What you'll do

• Manage and grow a portfolio of Plaid's largest UK and European enterprise customers.
• Develop strong, reliable relationships with both executive sponsors and daily operational contacts.
• Proactively identify and convert upsell and cross-sell opportunities within your existing client base.
• Implement new and creative use cases for leading fintechs and banks in the UK and Europe.
• Lead commercial discussions, including renewals, expansions, and strategic partnerships.
• Provide strategic consulting, offering industry insights, product guidance, and data-driven recommendations.
• Direct key client initiatives such as business reviews, operational checkpoints, product launches, and technical escalations.
• Formulate account strategies that balance immediate commercial goals with long-term customer development.
• Collaborate with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Product, Engineering, Support, and Legal teams to achieve objectives.
• Advocate for customer needs internally, sharing feedback and market intelligence to influence Plaid's product roadmap.

Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in a client-facing commercial role, such as Account Management, Strategic Partnerships, Consulting, or Business Development.
• Proven track record of expanding enterprise relationships and revenue within an existing client portfolio.
• Strong commercial understanding, with demonstrated success in driving renewals, expansions, and multi-product growth.
• Ability to navigate complex organizations and build relationships at all levels, including executive leadership.
• Experience collaborating with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Support teams.
• Comfortable with operations and travel across UK and European markets.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-management abilities.
• High degree of ownership, curiosity, and customer empathy.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the regional fintech and banking landscape and regulatory context (e.g., PSD2).

About the company

Plaid Cymru is a centre-left to left-wing Welsh nationalist political party that supports independence from the United Kingdom. The party campaigns on a platform of social democracy and civic nationalism. It is a supporter of the European Union and a member of the European Free Alliance. Plaid Cymru was formed in 1925 under the name Plaid Genedlaethol Cymru. Gwynfor Evans won the first Westminster seat for the party at the 1966 Carmarthen by-election. In the first devolved Welsh Assembly election in 1999 the party gained considerable ground in traditionally Labour heartlands. Plaid Cymru was part of a coalition government with Welsh Labour as a junior partner between 2007 and 2011. Ieuan Wyn Jones served as deputy First Minister during that period. Leanne Wood succeeded Jones as leader following losses in the 2011 election. Adam Price became leader in 2018 after a leadership contest. The party formed a co-operation agreement with the Welsh Labour government after the 2021 Senedd election. Price resigned as leader in May 2023 following a report detailing failings to prevent sexual harassment and bullying. Rhun ap Iorwerth was elected unopposed as leader in June 2023. Plaid Cymru won a plurality in the 2026 Senedd election with 43 out of 96 seats. The party formed the Welsh government and Rhun ap Iorwerth became the first Plaid Cymru First Minister. The party currently holds four of 32 Welsh seats in the UK House of Commons and 200 of 1,234 principal local authority councillors.
