About the role
You will own the end-to-end sales cycle for large enterprise clients in North America, driving new business growth across targeted verticals. You will act as the primary commercial leader for your portfolio, shaping strategy and executing against ambitious revenue targets. Your focus will be on identifying high-impact use cases where Plaid's platform creates measurable value for complex organizations. You will build and sustain deep relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering, product, and executive leadership. You will collaborate cross-functionally to construct tailored solutions that align with customer business objectives. You will leverage data and insights to refine your territory approach and continuously improve win rates. You will champion Plaid's mission to unlock financial freedom by enabling the tools that thousands of developers rely on.

What you'll do
Identify potential customers and manage the full sales cycle from initial discovery to closed deal.
Build and maintain multi-threaded relationships with enterprise stakeholders spanning technical teams and executive leadership.
Partner with internal teams including New Business, Sales Engineering, Commercial, Product, and Leadership to develop and win strategic opportunities.
Develop a fresh territory by identifying ideal accounts and uncovering high-value use cases that demonstrate Plaid's impact.
Engage deeply with accounts to understand workflows, pain points, and decision-making processes across both wide and vertical dimensions.
Collaborate with GTM teams to define and execute a cohesive go-to-market strategy tailored to enterprise buyers.
Win deals as part of a coordinated pod, working closely with outbound SDRs, account managers, technical account managers, implementation managers, and product experts.
Leverage consultative selling techniques to navigate complex enterprise environments and articulate solution value.
Conduct discovery sessions that reveal business needs and map them to Plaid's capabilities and ROI.
Present tailored demonstrations and value propositions that resonate with technical and executive audiences.
Maintain detailed pipeline management and forecasting to ensure predictable revenue attainment.
Champion Plaid's product suite by becoming deeply knowledgeable about its features, use cases, and technical nuances.
Continuously refine your approach based on market feedback, competitive insights, and performance metrics.
Act as the trusted advisor driving enterprise adoption and long-term account expansion.
Contribute to the creation of sales playbooks and best practices that elevate the performance of the broader sales organization.
Requirements
Bring 5 or more years of sales experience from a SaaS background to the role.
Include at least 1 year of proven experience as an Enterprise Account Executive closing six-figure deals.
Demonstrate a strong track record of closing large, complex deals in enterprise environments.
Employ strong prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating skills with a consultative, solution-centric mindset.
Show experience working with sales development teams and deploying territory or vertical-focused revenue strategies.
Have experience selling technical products that drive executive-level business outcomes.
Exhibit excitement for understanding one of the more complex solutions in the financial technology market.
Desire to become overly technical regarding Plaid's product, architecture, and use cases.
Commit to building relationships across diverse stakeholders, including engineers, product managers, and C-suite leaders.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where priorities evolve quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate value to sophisticated buyers.
Proven ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Willingness to travel domestically for customer meetings, partner events, and industry conferences as required.

Nice to have
Experience working with enterprise customers in financial services, banking, or payments verticals.
Background in fintech, payments infrastructure, or API-driven platforms.
Familiarity with developer tools, integration workflows, and technical evaluation processes.
Understanding of data privacy, security, and compliance considerations in enterprise sales.
Experience collaborating with technical presales or solutions engineering teams.
Track record of building repeatable sales processes within new territory development.
Practical notes
This role is full_time and based in the New York City Office.
Domestic travel may be required for customer engagements and company events.
