About the role
Piano is seeking a skilled Product Manager to lead the Checkout team in our Warsaw office. This role is pivotal in enhancing our payment processing solutions and ensuring a seamless user experience for our clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product management, particularly in e-commerce or digital payments, and will be responsible for driving the strategic vision and execution of our checkout products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and marketing, to deliver innovative solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

What you'll do
- Lead the product strategy for the Checkout team, defining the vision and roadmap for payment processing solutions that enhance user experience and drive conversion rates.
- Collaborate with engineering and design teams to develop and implement new features, ensuring that they align with customer needs and business objectives.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and opportunities in the digital payments landscape, using insights to inform product decisions.
- Gather and prioritize product requirements from stakeholders, ensuring that the team is focused on delivering high-impact features that meet customer expectations.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of checkout products, using data-driven insights to inform future enhancements.
- Facilitate regular product reviews and retrospectives, promoting a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
- Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies for new product launches, ensuring that messaging resonates with target audiences.
- Engage with customers to gather feedback and validate product concepts, ensuring that the voice of the customer is central to product development.
- Manage the product backlog, prioritizing tasks based on business value and customer impact, while ensuring timely delivery of features.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to ensure that payment solutions adhere to relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Mentor junior product team members, fostering their professional growth and development within the organization.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in digital payments, leveraging this knowledge to inform product strategy and innovation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, preferably in the e-commerce or digital payments sector.
- Proven track record of successfully launching and managing payment processing products or similar digital solutions.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions that drive product success.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Experience with agile methodologies and product development frameworks, demonstrating a strong understanding of the product lifecycle.
- Familiarity with payment processing technologies and platforms, as well as knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a SaaS environment, particularly with subscription-based models.
- Background in UX/UI design principles, with an understanding of how to create user-friendly interfaces for payment solutions.
- Knowledge of A/B testing and other optimization techniques to enhance product performance.
- Familiarity with data analytics tools and methodologies, enabling data-driven decision-making.
- Previous experience in a startup environment, demonstrating adaptability and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency in product management tools such as JIRA, Trello, or Asana for tracking progress and managing the product backlog.
- Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Mixpanel to monitor product performance and user behavior.
- Strong understanding of payment gateways, APIs, and integration processes within the digital payments ecosystem.
- Ability to create wireframes and user stories to effectively communicate product requirements to development teams.
