About the role
The Director, Global Instructor Development owns the end-to-end strategy and execution of Peloton's global instructor development ecosystem, defining the frameworks, standards, and vision that enable world-class teaching at scale. This role establishes the global casting architecture and talent producer organization, creating scalable pathways for identifying, coaching, and elevating elite fitness talent across all international markets. The hire will champion equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility within every audition and development initiative, ensuring representation reflects the global community. They will evolve instructor performance, brand development, and career progression through data-informed coaching philosophies and continuous program innovation. This leader establishes long-term talent pipelines and succession plans while managing the strategic transition of Talent Producers from class execution partners into dedicated development coaches. They serve as the primary strategic advisor to the SVP, Global Content & Instructor Strategy on all matters related to instructor development and casting excellence.

What you'll do
Partner with the SVP, Global Content & Instructor Strategy to define, evolve, and operationalize Peloton's global instructor development strategy and long-term vision.
Establish global instructor development frameworks, coaching philosophies, and best practices that support instructor growth, performance, and long-term career development across all markets.
Identify opportunities to continuously evolve instructor performance, development programming, and brand growth through innovative programming and scalable systems.
Champion diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across global casting pipelines, coaching frameworks, and instructor representation to ensure inclusive and equitable opportunities.
Own the overarching global instructor casting architecture, establishing objective criteria to source, audition, and sign elite global fitness talent aligned with brand and content needs.
Develop long-term talent pipelines by identifying, evaluating, and recruiting exceptional instructor talent through proactive sourcing and strategic partnerships.
Establish consistent audition, evaluation, and selection criteria that reflect Peloton's instructor standards and future business needs while maintaining flexibility for market-specific nuances.
Partner with regional Instructor Development teams to support casting execution, ensuring alignment and successful onboarding of new instructors across all regions.
Partner with the Director of Instructor Operations to execute hiring of new Instructor cast, coordinating workflows and cross-functional collaboration.
Partner with senior leadership to develop and implement structured, objective evaluation rubrics and equitable audition standards that ensure diverse representation across modalities, cultures, backgrounds, and global markets.
Lead, mentor, and develop the New York-based Talent Producer team, providing clear direction, feedback, and growth opportunities.
Drive the transition of the Talent Producer organization from class execution partners to dedicated talent development coaches focused on long-term instructor development, brand extension, and performance end-to-end.
Establish global standards, expectations, and development opportunities for the Talent Producer team to ensure consistency and excellence in coaching methodologies.
Partner with the Director, Global Instructor Development & Operations - International to ensure consistent instructor coaching methodologies and Talent Producer best practices across regions and markets.
Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing across the global Talent Producer organization to elevate collective capabilities and institutional learning.
Manage and evolve global coaching frameworks that support instructor performance, presentation, storytelling, and brand development to maintain a cohesive global identity.
Partner with Programming to guide instructor individual development plans, aligning personal growth with content strategy and member experience goals.
Oversee instructor development resources, including media trainers, executive coaches, and external development partners, working with operational teams to onboard vendors and maximize impact.
Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on instructor development, succession planning, and long-term talent growth to support organizational objectives.
Support instructor contract renewal discussions by providing talent assessments, development insights, and long-term growth recommendations that inform decision-making.
Requirements
10+ years of progressive leadership experience in talent development, casting, or performance coaching with a track record of scaling global talent initiatives and working with production environments.
Demonstrated success leading high-performing creative or talent development teams in complex, matrixed organizations.
Significant experience in instructor or on-camera talent development, casting, and coaching within fitness, performance, or similar content-driven industries.
Strong understanding of adult learning principles, curriculum design, and coaching methodologies applied to diverse learner populations.
Proven ability to build and manage processes, rubrics, and frameworks that ensure consistency, scalability, and fairness in evaluation and selection.
Experience developing global talent pipelines and implementing equitable audition standards that reflect diverse modalities, cultures, and backgrounds.
Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional partners.
Strong strategic thinking and execution skills, with the capacity to translate business objectives into actionable development programs and operational plans.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate vision, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate collaborative workshops.

Experience working within a subscription-based, membership-driven content model and understanding of member engagement dynamics.
Background in building and scaling internal training and development programs for large distributed teams.

Experience with video audition review, scoring rubrics, and digital evaluation platforms used in talent acquisition and development.
Familiarity with Peloton's content production workflows and instructor onboarding processes.
