What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs, overseeing infrastructure, methodologies, processes, and tool stacks to ensure scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Build and optimize event-driven microservices architecture for efficient message processing, enabling real-time data flow and analytics.
- MongoDB for high-performance, scalable data storage, ensuring data integrity and quick access for various applications.
- Develop RESTful and GraphQL APIs to support multiple client applications, ensuring they are secure, performant, and easy to extend.
- Implement data streaming solutions using Apache Kafka to facilitate real-time data ingestion, processing, and analytics.
- Deploy, manage, and optimize multi-cloud applications on AWS and Azure platforms, ensuring high availability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI/ML models for content search, enrichment, and analytics, enhancing the platform's capabilities.
- Apply Twelve-Factor App methodology to build resilient, scalable, and maintainable web applications that adhere to best practices.
- Use appropriate data structures, algorithms, and concurrency models to optimize application performance and responsiveness.
- Develop comprehensive testing infrastructure and automation frameworks to ensure high-quality software releases and reduce bugs.
- Ensure all software solutions comply with security standards and data privacy regulations, implementing best practices for data protection.
- Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and documentation to promote knowledge sharing and maintain code quality.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and workflows to increase efficiency and product reliability.
- Support deployment pipelines and CI/CD workflows to streamline software delivery and updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly, minimizing downtime and maintaining system stability.
- Engage with product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative approaches and tools.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in software engineering or a similar discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience working with Core Spring Framework modules, including Spring Core (IoC, DI), Spring MVC, and Spring Data JPA.
- Proven experience building RESTful APIs and microservices architectures using Spring Boot.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing products with microservices architectures, demonstrating an understanding of service decomposition, API management, and scalability.
- Extensive experience working with SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS cloud solutions, including a minimum of 3 years working with AWS and Azure platforms.
- Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including data modeling, query optimization, and database design.
- Proficiency in Python 3.10 or higher, with experience developing data-driven applications and automation scripts.
- Experience with real-time data streaming technologies, particularly Kafka, for building scalable data pipelines.
- Familiarity with container orchestration and management on Amazon EKS and Azure AKS, including deploying, scaling, and managing containerized applications.
- Experience working with MongoDB databases for NoSQL data storage solutions.
- Proficiency in Java 21, with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles and best practices.
- Knowledge of AI and machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn, for integrating intelligent features into applications.
- Familiarity with security protocols and standards, including OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and SAML, for secure authentication and authorization.
- Strong understanding of data privacy and security principles, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes to automate testing, deployment, and scaling processes.
- Knowledge of the Twelve-Factor App methodology for building scalable and maintainable web applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication skills, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Practical notes
- Occasional travel to headquarters for team meetings, approximately 1-2 times per year, with each visit lasting about a week.
- Remote work is permitted from anywhere within the United States, providing flexibility for the right candidate.
- The salary range for this position is between $155,000 and $165,000, commensurate with experience and skills.
