Pair Eyewear is seeking a VP of Finance to join the leadership team at a pivotal moment in the company's growth. In this role, you will own the end-to-end financial strategy of the business, driving alignment between finance and operations to execute against ambitious company goals. You will act as a strategic partner to the co-CEOs and CFO/COO, translating high-level vision into actionable, measurable plans that balance ambition with financial discipline. This position requires a leader who is equally comfortable analyzing detailed accounting data and challenging the broader assumptions behind major strategic bets. You will foster a culture of accountability and transparency, ensuring that every team understands how their work ladders up to company-level outcomes. What you'll do
- Serve as a core member of the company's leadership team, shaping long-term strategy and ensuring finance drives decision-making at the highest level.
- Translate the vision of co-CEOs and the CFO/COO into concrete operating plans, budgets, and resourcing strategies that align cross-functional teams.
- Lead the financial planning and analysis (FP&A) organization, owning annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and scenario modeling to guide strategic choices.
- Build and maintain sophisticated financial models that evaluate potential investments, M&A opportunities, and fundraising initiatives to support informed decision-making.
- Oversee the end-to-end accounting function, ensuring timely and accurate financial close, compliant reporting, and robust internal controls.
- Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership by assessing the financial and operational implications of major decisions, risks, and trade-offs.
- Partner with department heads on headcount planning, performance measurement, and ROI analysis to optimize capital allocation across the business.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and banking partners to ensure the company remains audit-ready and financially sound.
- Own the roadmap for finance and business systems, including ERP, planning tools, and reporting infrastructure, to support scalable operations.
- Drive process improvement and automation initiatives that enhance the speed, accuracy, and reliability of financial data and insights.
- Collaborate closely with Data and Engineering teams to ensure seamless data flows and high-quality information used for financial and operational decisions.
- Deliver clear, concise monthly and quarterly business reviews that highlight performance against plan and outline actionable next steps for leadership.
- Partner with leadership on fundraising efforts by building financial narratives, forecasts, and materials that communicate value and momentum to investors.
- Hold leaders and their teams accountable for delivering against operating plans, surfacing risks early and recommending pragmatic corrective actions.
Requirements
- Bring 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with demonstrated leadership of both FP&A and Accounting functions in a growing organization.
- Have direct experience operating in a high-growth environment, ideally within a venture-backed or private equity-backed company.
- Show a proven track record of leading finance teams through periods of rapid change, ambiguity, and accelerated scaling.
- Demonstrate the ability to partner with executive leadership to define company objectives and convert strategy into measurable operating plans.
- Have a history of influencing company strategy through rigorous financial analysis, insightful business partnering, and data-driven recommendations.
- Possess experience presenting complex financial performance and strategic recommendations to executive teams, boards, and investors with clarity and confidence.
- Show strong ownership, integrity, and accountability, with a consistent ability to lead with transparency and earn trust across the organization.
- Be a systems thinker who continuously identifies opportunities to simplify processes, improve operational efficiency, and build scalable financial infrastructure.

- Have experience working with cross-functional stakeholders to align on goals, resolve conflicts, and drive execution across departments.
- Be willing to travel as needed for business purposes, including meetings with investors, partners, and key stakeholders.

- Familiarity with consumer brands and direct-to-consumer business models and their unique financial dynamics.
- Experience implementing and scaling ERP systems or financial platforms in growing companies.
- Background in building financial dashboards and data visualization to support executive decision-making.
- Exposure to fundraising, capital allocation, and investor relations in a growth-stage company.
- Knowledge of best practices in pricing, unit economics, and margin management for consumer products.
