About the role
You will act as a critical analytical partner ensuring the accuracy and control of money movements through Lead's banking infrastructure. This role requires you to own the documentation and validation of complex data flows across the BaaS platform. You will evaluate proposed funds flows to confirm they align with established architectural frameworks and regulatory requirements. The position demands close collaboration with Engineering, Product, and Compliance to resolve operational issues and improve financial reporting. You will serve as a primary liaison between technical teams and Accounting for program implementation. Your work will directly protect the bank by identifying exceptions and ensuring compliance for deposits, payments, and lending products. You will thrive in a setting where curiosity and precision drive decision-making in a fast-paced fintech environment.

What you'll do
- Investigate and document intricate money and data flows across the BaaS ecosystem.
- Evaluate proposed funds flows for alignment with Lead's standard funds movement frameworks and operational policies.
- Utilize a comprehensive understanding of BaaS funds flow architecture to ensure adherence to oversight and regulatory mandates for payments, deposits, and card products.
- Act as a dedicated point of contact for Accounting teams within Product, Engineering, and Compliance for BaaS program implementation.
- Apply deep knowledge of BaaS fundsflow architecture to support the full lifecycle management of lending, deposits, and payments products.
- Assist in technical accounting integrations related to BaaS programs to ensure accurate financial recording.
- Develop and manage data validation, analysis, and reconciliations for general ledger accounts and associated BaaS programs.
- Create and refine reporting and dashboards for daily operational use and strategic management review.
- Work cross-functionally to identify and implement process improvements through streamlined data use cases and automation initiatives.
- Perform root cause analysis for financial discrepancies and drive resolution strategies with internal stakeholders.
- Support the testing and validation of new product features related to money movement and financial controls.
- Maintain detailed process documentation to ensure clarity and continuity for program finance operations.
- Partner with Engineering to translate business requirements into technical specifications for financial systems.
- Contribute to special projects that enhance financial integrity and operational efficiency across the platform.
Requirements
- 3+ years of operational accounting/reconciliation experience in a fast-paced environment.
- 3+ years of fintech implementation experience focusing on financial controls and data integrity.
- Proven experience with BaaS program reconciliation within complex research and exception resolution frameworks.
- Strong conceptual and practical understanding of funds flow for lending, deposits, and payments products within a partner banking model.
- Experience working in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Experience in team/project management, comfortable working across functions to gather inputs and drive outcomes.
- Action-oriented mindset with strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Curious and open to learning new technologies, regulations, and financial products.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret data and resolve complex issues.

This role is full-time. The position requires work authorization in the United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in Kansas City, Missouri, or one of the other listed locations. Travel is not required for this role. The positions are based in Kansas City, MO; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Sunnyvale, CA (Hybrid); and Remote.
