About the role

Bamboohr is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team in Courbevoie, Île-de-France. This role is pivotal in providing legal support and guidance across our operations in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate law, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiation, ensuring that Bamboohr adheres to all legal standards while fostering business growth. You will work closely with various departments to mitigate legal risks and enhance our operational efficiency.

What you'll do

• Provide comprehensive legal advice to internal stakeholders regarding corporate governance, compliance, and regulatory matters specific to the CEE region.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including commercial agreements, service contracts, and partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address legal risks associated with business operations, providing proactive solutions to mitigate potential issues.
• Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory frameworks across the CEE region, advising the organization on necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
• Represent Bamboohr in negotiations with external parties, ensuring that the company's interests are effectively protected.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to support ongoing projects and initiatives, providing insights that inform strategic decision-making.
• Develop and implement training programs for employees on legal compliance and best practices, fostering a culture of awareness and accountability.
• Assist in the management of disputes and litigation, coordinating with external legal counsel as necessary to protect the company's interests.
• Maintain accurate records of legal documents and correspondence, ensuring that all files are organized and accessible for future reference.
• Participate in strategic planning sessions, offering legal perspectives that align with business objectives and growth strategies.
• Engage with regulatory bodies and industry associations to advocate for Bamboohr's interests and stay informed about industry trends.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of legal processes and systems within the organization, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.

Requirements

• A law degree from a recognized institution, with a focus on corporate law or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal role, preferably within the financial services or technology sectors.
• In-depth knowledge of CEE legal frameworks, regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proven experience in contract negotiation and drafting, with a strong understanding of commercial law.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex legal issues.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in additional CEE languages is a plus.

Nice to have

• Experience working in a multinational company or a law firm with a focus on international law.
• Familiarity with data protection laws and regulations, particularly GDPR compliance.
• Previous experience in the fintech or blockchain sectors would be advantageous.

• Proficient in legal research tools and databases.
• Familiarity with contract management software and compliance tracking systems.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel, for document preparation and analysis.
• Ability to utilize project management tools to track legal projects and deadlines effectively.
