Oscar Health is seeking an Associate, Operations Data Analytics to join the Service Operations Data Analytics team. This role is central to how the company measures, understands, and improves its healthcare operations. The position requires a professional who can manage the entire analytical lifecycle, from initial request to final insight delivery.

About the Role
This position is responsible for owning the full cycle of analytics work for service operations. The associate will translate complex healthcare data into clear, actionable steps for internal business partners. A core part of the role involves presenting findings to both internal leadership and external stakeholders with a high degree of clarity and precision. The work is remote and requires disciplined, independent execution.
Key Responsibilities
The associate will design intake workflows to properly clarify analytical requests and define success metrics with stakeholders. They will construct data models and SQL pipelines to ensure datasets are reliable and ready for business review. The role involves guiding stakeholder review sessions to validate findings and iteratively refine analytical approaches.
They will ship dashboards and reports that track financial and utilization performance against company objectives. A key partnership function is working with operations leaders to test hypotheses and drive the removal of inefficiencies in care delivery. The associate will also coordinate with technical teams to improve core tools such as Looker and dbt for ongoing benefit.
Maintaining compliance with all applicable laws and regulations is a fundamental duty. The position also involves supporting other strategic projects as business priorities shift. The associate will explore adjacent opportunities to strengthen analytics coverage and support evolving business needs.
Requirements
Candidates must bring a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on analytical work using tools and writing reports. They must be able to handle large datasets, transforming raw information into structured insights with clear, logical reasoning. The ability to present analysis to leadership is essential, demonstrated through 5+ real projects for Director-level audiences or higher.
Proficiency in SQL is required, including the ability to filter data, aggregate metrics, and build complex Common Table Expressions (CTEs). The associate must have experience building robust data models that shape information flows for decision support. Advanced skills in Google Sheets or Excel are necessary, including the use of VLookup, nested logic, and connected workbooks.
Creating dashboards in Looker or similar visualization platforms is required to make data accessible and understandable.
Nice to Have
Experience with Python or R is a bonus for advanced analysis and automation tasks. A background in healthcare or insurance environments, including an understanding of contract nuances, is valued. Exposure to risk adjustment, ACA marketplace dynamics, quality measures, or population health is considered a strength.
A history in Member Relations or Customer Success roles is beneficial for understanding member perspectives. Experience building models in dbt for structured transformation workflows is an asset. The ability to create reports in Looker Studio Pro to distribute interactive insights is preferred. Familiarity with Git workflows to manage version control and collaboration on analytical code is also a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The base salary for this role is $101,844 - $133,670 per year. Employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses. This is a remote position.
