About the role
The Senior Manager, Speciality / Ancillary Products is accountable for the strategy, design, execution and performance of the ancillary product portfolio, with a primary focus on dental and vision. This role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of ancillary insurance products including product strategy, regulatory execution, third party vendor implementation leadership and management post launch optimization across the individual market. You will partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business needs into structured product solutions and ensure rigorous governance across all stages of product development. The role requires a high level of ownership, analytical rigor, and communication to align diverse teams around clear product objectives and outcomes. You will report into the Vice President, Insurance Product Innovation and Development.

What you'll do
Drive the ancillary product strategy and portfolio roadmap across dental, vision, and related add-on offerings such as hearing, fitness, over the counter benefits, wellness and other insurance supplements.
Own the complete end-to-end lifecycle of ancillary insurance products, from initial ideation and benefit design through launch, performance management, and ongoing optimization in the individual market.
Construct and manage business cases for new and existing products, including financial modeling, membership projections, and ongoing performance tracking against strategic goals.
Analyze product performance using financial and membership metrics to forecast results, identify risks and opportunities, and guide data-informed decision-making.
Lead benefit design initiatives, including enhancing existing offerings, remediating underperforming structures, and introducing new benefit models tailored to specific consumer populations based on performance insights and market dynamics.
Contribute to annual planning, roadmap development, and prioritization for the ancillary product suite in alignment with enterprise objectives.
Serve as the business lead for end-to-end implementation of ancillary vendors, acting as the primary product owner and escalation point for dental and vision providers.
Define and manage vendor requirements, service level agreements, key performance indicators, and performance scorecards to ensure accountability and continuous improvement.
Partner with procurement, legal, and compliance teams on vendor selection, contracting, renewals, and performance governance to mitigate risk and optimize outcomes.
Drive timely issue resolution and root cause remediation with vendors to prevent repeat problems and protect member experience.
Represent ancillary products within the Joint Operating Committee alongside Network and leadership teams, including agenda setting, performance reviews, issue tracking, and follow-through on commitments.
Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities across benefit design, product execution, and vendor performance, and recommend corrective actions backed by analysis.
Collaborate with Actuarial and Finance teams to evaluate pricing, unit economics, and profitability tradeoffs, informing strategic choices about benefits and portfolio direction.
Support regulatory filings and compliance activities related to ancillary products, ensuring alignment with state and federal requirements and internal policies.
Requirements
Must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, or Virginia. Note that this list of states is subject to change.
Demonstrated experience managing the full product lifecycle for insurance products, with a strong focus on ancillary lines such as dental and vision.
Proven ability to develop business cases, conduct financial analysis, and build robust financial models to evaluate product performance and profitability.
Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data sets, assess performance trends, and derive actionable insights for decision-making.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders across cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
Experience working with vendors, contractors, and external partners in a regulated environment, including managing relationships and performance oversight.
Solid understanding of regulatory and compliance considerations for health insurance products, including filing requirements and state-specific rules.
Self-driven mindset with strong ownership, prioritization, and time management skills in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Nice to have
Experience in health insurance product management, particularly within ancillary lines such as dental and vision.
Background in managing vendor relationships and oversight of third-party implementation in insurance or related services.
Familiarity with state-based regulatory frameworks governing health insurance offerings.
Experience utilizing data analytics tools to monitor product performance and support ongoing optimization.

Compensation details are provided per location, with distinct ranges for New Jersey, New York, and California versus all other eligible states.
