About the role
OneTrust is seeking a technical leader to guide product direction and improve system efficiency within our AI-Ready Governance Platform. You will mentor engineering teams and solve complex architectural challenges while ensuring our data governance solutions remain stable and performant. In this capacity, you will own the design decisions that shape critical product features and influence the technical integrity of our offerings. You will be responsible for driving system efficiency initiatives that enhance platform reliability and scalability for our global customer base. The role requires you to balance strategic vision with hands-on implementation details across multiple software components. You will act as a thought partner to product and engineering stakeholders, aligning technical constraints with business objectives. What you'll do
- Design, implement, and debug software components across the platform to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
- Define long-term product roadmaps and set technical strategy in collaboration with product leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Lead and influence multiple engineering teams, providing high-level mentorship to 3-4 engineers to elevate their technical growth.
- Troubleshoot complex system issues and optimize existing software performance to meet stringent service level objectives.
- Collaborate with testing teams on performance plans and support requirement development to ensure comprehensive quality coverage.
- Foster cross-functional relationships and drive decision-making processes that align engineering efforts with organizational goals.
- Recommend new technologies to boost organizational productivity and evaluate their applicability to current architecture challenges.
- Conduct code reviews and architectural assessments to maintain high standards of software quality and maintainability.
- Participate in on-call rotations to address critical production incidents and provide technical leadership during escalations.
- Contribute to the development of engineering best practices, standards, and documentation to streamline team workflows.
- Analyze system metrics and feedback to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation in product capabilities.
- Support recruitment efforts by interviewing candidates and providing technical assessments for prospective engineering hires.
- Mentor junior engineers through pair programming sessions, technical guidance, and constructive feedback on deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with security and privacy standards while implementing features that meet customer and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 13 years of professional experience in software development roles with a proven track record of delivering complex systems.
- Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture to build and maintain scalable backend services.
- Background in building complex web systems and applying software development methodologies such as Agile and DevOps.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational capabilities to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor staff to achieve high-performance engineering outcomes.
- Experience with version control systems, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines to ensure reliable software releases.
- Demonstrated skill in writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code that adheres to industry best practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team, with strong ownership of deadlines and deliverables.
- Understanding of data privacy and security principles to ensure governance features are implemented correctly.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for team meetings, customer visits, or company events as required by business needs.
