OneTrust is on the lookout for a Staff Software Engineer to become a vital member of our dynamic AI Governance team. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping architectural strategies and developing features for our AI-Ready Governance Platform. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to mentor fellow team members, sharing your expertise in technical best practices and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop and sustain Java microservices and libraries that seamlessly integrate with various AI platforms.
- Architect and conduct unit testing for applications hosted on Microsoft Azure, utilizing Core Java, RESTful services, and the Spring framework.
- Strive to maintain a minimum of 80% code coverage across all modules you work on.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, UX designers, and fellow engineers during planning and grooming sessions to ensure alignment on project objectives.
- Ensure that sprint goals are consistently achieved and that high-priority issues are addressed within established service level agreements (SLAs).
- Conduct thorough code reviews and mentor junior engineers on effective testing methodologies, including those related to AI and automation.
- Actively work to minimize technical debt by identifying and addressing defects early in the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to the long-term vision of the AI Governance Platform.
- Engage in continuous learning to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies relevant to AI governance.
- Foster a collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and knowledge sharing among team members.
- Assist in the onboarding process for new team members, providing guidance on tools, processes, and best practices.
- Contribute to documentation efforts to ensure clarity and maintainability of code and processes.
Requirements
- A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 8 years of professional experience in software development, or a minimum of 5 years with a relevant master's degree.
- Strong expertise in object-oriented design principles, Java/J2EE, Spring MVC, SQL, and web services.
- Familiarity with AI platforms such as Amazon SageMaker, Google Vertex AI, or AWS Bedrock is essential.
- Experience with data streaming technologies like Kafka and search engines such as Elasticsearch.
- A solid understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) standards, including REST, OAuth, and JSON.
- Proven experience in agile development environments, employing methodologies such as Scrum, Extreme Programming (XP), or pair programming.
- Competence in working with public cloud services, including Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Moderate proficiency in scripting languages, particularly Python and Bash.
Nice to have
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices to streamline development workflows.
- Knowledge of machine learning concepts and their application in software development.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of Java applications.
- Understanding of security best practices in software development, particularly in the context of AI applications.
