What you'll do
- Lead the visual development and creation of social media campaigns across paid and organic channels, covering static images, motion graphics, and video.
- Oversee photo and video shoots, as well as user-generated content projects, providing clear direction to external partners and stakeholders.
- Develop core creative assets and design frameworks that empower external collaborators, agencies, and content creators to adapt and scale content efficiently.
- Apply strong design principles to all work, including typography, layout, color, composition, and visual hierarchy in both static and moving formats.
- Demonstrate a keen understanding of what resonates on platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, adapting formats for maximum impact.
- Create and maintain scalable social creative systems and templates in Figma to ensure consistency and speed across teams.
- Utilize AI tools for image and video generation to speed up exploration and enhance creative output without sacrificing quality.
- Partner with Growth and Brand Marketing teams, as well as external agencies, to ensure social creative aligns with brand identity and performance goals.
- Contribute to establishing a unified visual style that elevates the overall quality of social media content across all campaigns.
- Translate performance insights and test results into iterative creative improvements that maintain artistic integrity.
- Mentor junior designers on best practices for social media content and visual storytelling techniques.
- Act as the primary creative reviewer for all social assets before they go live, ensuring technical and aesthetic excellence.
- Stay current with emerging visual trends, platform updates, and cultural moments that can be leveraged in creative work.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-moving environment while maintaining a high standard of output.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience as an Art Director, with a focus on social media content, gained either at an agency or within an in-house team.
- A portfolio showcasing diverse work across paid and organic social media, with strong examples of both brand-focused and performance-driven campaigns.
- Familiarity with performance marketing, including how paid creative is evaluated, the principles of meaningful testing, and using data to inform creative choices without limiting artistic expression.
- Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite, with a strong attention to detail in file organization and asset management.
- Experience with motion graphics is essential, including knowledge of timing, pacing, and visual storytelling in video formats.
- A solid foundation in design principles, including a deep understanding of typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Proven experience with AI creative tools and an eagerness to explore their evolving capabilities to enhance the creative process.
- An intuitive grasp of internet culture and emerging trends, allowing for the creation of timely and relevant content.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of clearly explaining creative decisions in written and verbal formats to both creative and non-creative stakeholders.
- A proactive and driven approach, with a builder's mindset and the ability to independently own projects from concept to completion.
