About the role
In the position of Telecom Revit Designer within Olsson's Data Center team, you will play a crucial role in the design of low-voltage telecommunications, security, and audio/visual systems tailored for intricate data center environments. This role requires collaboration in a dynamic and fast-paced atmosphere, where you will work closely with seasoned designers and engineers to deliver exceptional technical solutions for facilities that are critical to operations.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Utilize CAD/BIM software to assist in the design of cable routing, equipment layouts, and communication systems.
- Aid in the configuration of telecom, security, and audio/visual system layouts, including the design of MDF/IDF/Demarc rooms and horizontal cabling.
- Collaborate on project design tasks under the mentorship of senior team members, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
- Support interdisciplinary coordination to ensure design accuracy and consistency across various project components.
- Engage in discussions with clients, emphasizing Olsson's dedication to quality and strong partnerships.
- Conduct occasional site visits to verify field conditions and monitor project progression.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation and reports as required.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to contribute innovative ideas to the team.
Requirements
- A strong commitment to teamwork and collaborative efforts.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to solve problems effectively.
- An associate degree in Drafting or Design is preferred.
- A minimum of three years of experience with CAD/BIM tools; proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Cellular Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS), Public Safety DAS (PSDAS), Radio Over Internet Protocol (ROIP), or Emergency Responder Radio Coverage Systems (ERRCS) is a plus.
- A desire to enhance your telecom design capabilities, particularly in complex drawing layouts and adherence to industry standards.
- An interest in pursuing Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification in the future.

- Experience working within data center environments.
- Knowledge of current telecommunications technologies and standards.
- Familiarity with project management software or tools.

- The typical annual salary range for this position is between $21 and $40 per hour, depending on various factors such as experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
