About the role
Olsson is currently seeking a QA/QC Agent to join its Telecommunications team, with office locations in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Tulsa, Oklahoma. This role is focused on maintaining and improving the quality of telecommunications services, installations, and systems that Olsson delivers to its clients across the region. The QA/QC Agent will serve as a key quality checkpoint throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning through final installation and handover, performing detailed inspections, verifying compliance with technical specifications and industry standards, and producing thorough documentation that supports both project accountability and continuous service improvement. The position requires close collaboration with field technicians, engineers, and project managers to identify and address quality concerns before they impact client deliverables.

What you'll do
- Conduct thorough quality assurance inspections on all telecommunications equipment and infrastructure installations at project sites.
- Verify that every field installation meets established industry standards, company procedures, and client-specific technical requirements.
- Create detailed documentation of all inspection findings, test results, and observations for inclusion in project records.
- Work directly with field technicians and engineers to identify quality deviations and develop effective resolution strategies.
- Perform comprehensive on-site audits of telecommunications systems to confirm that all components are functioning as designed.
- Examine installation documentation and as-built drawings to verify that records accurately reflect completed work.
- Monitor quality metrics and escalate non-conformances through the established quality management and reporting process.
- Contribute to root cause analysis sessions when recurring quality or performance issues are identified in the field.
- Help develop and refine quality control checklists, inspection criteria, and standard operating procedures for telecommunications projects.
- Present inspection findings and improvement recommendations to project managers and technical leadership in regular meetings.
- Support the onboarding and training of new team members by sharing quality assurance best practices and field knowledge.
- Stay current with evolving telecommunications technologies, regulatory changes, and industry best practices that affect quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate or bachelor degree in a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in telecommunications quality assurance, quality control, or a closely related discipline.
- Solid understanding of telecommunications systems, including voice networks, data transmission, and fiber optic infrastructure.
- Competence in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation plans accurately.
- A demonstrated record of strong attention to detail and a systematic, thorough approach to inspection and testing work.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites, which may include overnight stays and extended time away from home.
- Clear and effective written and verbal communication abilities for preparing reports and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
- The capacity to work independently on assigned tasks while also contributing productively within a collaborative team setting.
- Prior experience with quality documentation, audit procedures, and corrective action tracking is considered a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with applicable safety regulations and compliance standards relevant to telecommunications construction and service work.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with telecommunications quality management software, digital tracking systems, or similar technology platforms.
- Working knowledge of industry standards and guidelines published by organizations such as TIA, IEEE, or the FCC.
- Direct exposure to fiber optic splicing, testing, and certification procedures in a live network environment.
- Familiarity with project management software and electronic documentation platforms used in engineering and construction.
- Understanding of telecommunications network architecture, service delivery models, and common deployment configurations.
- Experience collaborating within a multi-disciplinary team on large-scale telecommunications infrastructure projects.

- Understanding of telecommunications network monitoring and diagnostic software used for system verification.
