Key facts
Position location includes La Vista, Nebraska and Lincoln, Nebraska. Engagement is full time with year round travel required. Compensation is listed as $36.96 hourly. Travel is an integral part of this position across multiple project sites.
What you'll do
You will set up drilling rigs safely across varied work sites and conditions. Coordination with surveyors and engineers is essential during coring and drilling activities. You will record procedures precisely in daily reports for each project phase. Transportation of equipment to remote locations will be required while meeting DOT standards. Partnership with contractors will help maintain steady progress on large sites with multiple teams. Guidance through soil classification checks ensures regulatory compliance is upheld. Preparation of core samples using NQ wireline and CPT methods must be performed accurately. Support for well installation covers infrastructure tasks ranging from 2 inch to 6 inch systems.
Requirements
Current CDL with a clean driving record is mandatory for this position. Railroad safety certifications must be current or obtainable within the required timeframe. Four years minimum experience in geotechnical drilling or construction is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory for this role. Physical ability to lift 50 pounds is necessary. Alertness must be maintained in all weather conditions during operations.
Nice to have
Preferred experience includes continuous flight augers and hollow stem augers. Familiarity with these systems is beneficial but not mandatory.
Skills & tools
Required skills include operation of continuous flight augers and hollow stem augers. Proficiency with NQ wireline coring is essential. Well installation techniques must be mastered. ASTM sampling methods are part of standard responsibilities.
