- Establish clear timelines for proposal development, lead marketing strategy meetings, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure deadlines are met.
- Use your experience and expertise to resolve complex issues that arise during the proposal process, providing guidance and mentorship to junior staff members.
- Create, edit, and conceptualize content for a variety of marketing activities, including proposals, statements of qualifications, interview presentations, and other marketing collateral.
- Conduct thorough market research to gather intelligence on potential clients, competitors, and industry trends, using this data to inform marketing strategies and improve project effectiveness.
- Develop promotional concepts and plan events to showcase the firm's capabilities and expertise to prospective clients and industry stakeholders.
- Oversee the creation and review of marketing materials, ensuring all documents such as statements of qualifications and proposals adhere to company standards and are of high quality.
- Perform internal quality assurance reviews of all marketing documents to maintain consistency, accuracy, and professionalism across all materials.
- Collect and analyze client intelligence data to better understand client needs, preferences, and decision-making processes, thereby enhancing targeted marketing efforts.
- Identify target markets and develop strategic plans to build and strengthen relationships with potential clients, industry partners, and community stakeholders.
- Prepare and submit entries for industry awards to increase the firm's visibility and reputation within the industry.
- Collaborate with technical teams and leadership to develop tailored proposals that highlight the firm's strengths and align with client expectations.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring all marketing efforts are coordinated and executed efficiently.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the firm's service offerings, project portfolio, and competitive advantages to craft compelling marketing messages.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new marketing tools to continuously improve the firm's marketing capabilities.
- Support the development of digital marketing content and maintain the firm's online presence, including website updates and social media engagement, as needed.
- Assist in preparing for client meetings, interviews, and presentations by providing relevant marketing materials and strategic input.
- Foster strong working relationships with internal teams, including technical staff, leadership, and administrative personnel, to ensure cohesive marketing efforts.
- Track and report on marketing activities and outcomes to measure effectiveness and inform future strategies.
Requirements
- A minimum of six years of experience in a marketing role focused on competitive pursuits, proposal development, or related fields.
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Communication, Journalism, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to develop compelling content for proposals, presentations, and marketing collateral.
- Strong self-motivation, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve complex issues efficiently.
- Effective time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience in proofreading and editing technical and non-technical content to ensure clarity and professionalism.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, including remote and local staff, to achieve marketing goals.
- Familiarity with data management and client relationship management software is a plus.
- Knowledge of the industry's best practices for proposal development and marketing strategies.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
