What you'll do

• Lead the quality control team in executing testing and inspection protocols to ensure product quality and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures that align with industry best practices and company objectives.
• Conduct regular audits of production processes and quality control systems to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to established standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process optimization.
• Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas of concern.
• Train and mentor team members on quality control techniques, regulatory requirements, and best practices to foster a culture of quality within the organization.
• Manage external audits and inspections by regulatory bodies, ensuring that all documentation and processes are in compliance.
• Stay current with industry developments and regulatory changes that may impact quality standards and practices.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the quality control department, utilizing tools such as Six Sigma or Lean methodologies.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met throughout the supply chain.
• Participate in product development meetings to provide quality insights and ensure that new products meet quality expectations from the outset.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Quality Assurance, Engineering, or Life Sciences.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control or quality assurance within a manufacturing or laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, ISO), and industry standards.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean.
• Ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights to improve quality processes.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality.
• Proficient in using quality management software and tools for documentation and reporting.

Nice to have

• Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, ISO 9001 Lead Auditor).
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical device industries.
• Familiarity with risk management principles and practices in quality control.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing methods and equipment relevant to the industry.
• Experience with project management and leading cross-functional teams.

Practical notes
