What you'll do
- Oversee the development and implementation of BIM standards and protocols to ensure consistency across all projects.
- Collaborate with project teams to create and manage 3D models, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Conduct regular reviews of BIM models to identify potential clashes and coordinate resolutions with relevant stakeholders.
- Provide training and support to team members on BIM software and best practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports, ensuring they are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors to integrate their models into the overall project BIM framework.
- Monitor project timelines and deliverables, proactively addressing any issues that may impact project schedules.
- Stay abreast of emerging BIM technologies and methodologies, recommending improvements to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.
- Facilitate BIM coordination meetings, ensuring that all team members are informed and engaged in the decision-making process.
- Prepare and present BIM-related information to clients and stakeholders, demonstrating the value of BIM in project delivery.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that all BIM outputs meet the required standards and specifications.
- Contribute to the development of project-specific BIM execution plans, outlining the approach and processes for successful BIM integration.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in BIM coordination or a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and BIM 360.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, building systems, and project delivery methods.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with industry standards and protocols related to BIM, such as ISO 19650.
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work under tight deadlines.
Nice to have
- Experience with additional software tools such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or SketchUp.
- Knowledge of sustainability practices and LEED certification processes.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, enhancing client relationships and project outcomes.
- Familiarity with coding or scripting for automation within BIM software.
- Certification in BIM management or related fields is a plus.
Skills & tools
- Strong technical skills in BIM software and tools, particularly Autodesk Revit and Navisworks.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for documentation and presentations.
- Familiarity with project management software and collaboration tools to facilitate team communication.
- Understanding of 3D modeling, visualization techniques, and data management practices.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
