As a Staff Product Designer, you will shape intuitive and impactful user experiences across our platform. This role involves contributing to our overall design strategy and direction, collaborating with various teams to translate business and user objectives into tangible product features that positively affect individuals historically underserved by the credit system. You will own the end-to-end design of complex product initiatives, ensuring that user needs are met with elegant and technically feasible solutions. What you'll do
- Guide the complete design lifecycle for product features, from initial concept and user research through to detailed design specifications and collaboration with engineering for final delivery.
- Develop and refine scalable design systems and pattern libraries to ensure consistency and efficiency across our product suite.
- Visualize and articulate user needs and business goals into compelling design solutions that enhance product usability and drive key metrics.
- Contribute to the evolution of our design practices and foster a strong design culture within the organization.
- Influence product strategy and prioritization by applying design thinking principles to complex challenges.
- Conduct user interviews and synthesize findings to inform product direction and validate design hypotheses.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes and interactive mockups to communicate ideas and test usability before development.
- Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure design decisions align with technical constraints and business goals.
- Advocate for the user throughout the product development process, ensuring their voice is represented in key decisions.
- Analyze product performance metrics to iterate and improve the user experience over time.
- Mentor junior designers and provide constructive feedback to elevate the overall quality of design work.
- Explore emerging design tools and methodologies to keep the team's practice innovative and effective.
- Translate complex business requirements into clear design workflows that support intuitive user experiences.

Requirements
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in product design, with a significant focus on B2B or B2B2C products.
- Demonstrated ability to manage the entire design process for features, including user research, usability testing, high-fidelity prototyping, and close collaboration with engineering.
- Strong visual design capabilities to create clear and effective mockups and prototypes.
- Proficiency in systems-level thinking to design solutions that are consistent and scalable across multiple products and platforms.
- The capacity to clearly communicate design decisions, supported by user insights, business objectives, and technical considerations.
- Experience contributing to or building design systems and pattern libraries.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and articulate complex design concepts.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving, with the ability to break down ambiguous challenges into actionable steps and drive them to completion.
- Familiarity with agile development processes and tools used for collaboration and project management.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift based on business needs and user feedback.
- Understanding of data-driven design principles and the ability to use analytics to inform design decisions.
- Willingness to participate in on-call design responsibilities as needed to support product launches and critical issues.

- Deep understanding of the FinTech industry, particularly in credit and risk assessment, with experience working with consumer-permissioned or credit data.

Practical notes

Compensation: $197,200 - $240,299 per year, dependent on experience, skills, education, location, and qualifications.
- Total compensation includes base salary, equity, potential incentive compensation, professional development, flexible PTO, and tenure rewards.
