(1425) Lead Frontend (JavaScript/TypeScript & React) Engineer
Job description
About the role
You own the user interface from first sketch to final deployment, shaping complex data flows into clear interactive experiences that end users rely on every day. You write testable components and argue over tradeoffs in careful reviews, ensuring that each decision improves reliability and clarity in production systems. This role suits a pragmatic engineer who prefers clean code, calm collaboration, and steady progress over loud headlines and shortcuts. You will translate ambiguous product goals into concrete interface solutions while balancing technical constraints and user expectations. You act as a technical leader, mentoring peers and guiding architectural choices that define the long term quality of the product. You facilitate discussions between product and design, turning rough ideas into structured flows that can be implemented with precision. You ensure that the interface remains consistent, predictable, and robust as the application scales and evolves.
Key facts
What you'll do
Design intuitive interface flows while coordinating with product and design during intake sessions to clarify expectations and constraints.
Architect reusable React components using JavaScript and TypeScript, balancing clarity, performance, and long term maintainability in shared libraries.
Refactor legacy UI patterns into modular solutions during careful build iterations, reducing risk and improving consistency across the interface.
Run thoughtful reviews that challenge assumptions and improve resilience before release, catching edge cases and design gaps early.
Coordinate deployment steps and verify quality as features move toward production in ship phases, aligning with release schedules and operational readiness.
Establish stable integrations with partner systems, smoothing data exchange and workflows between the frontend and backend services.
Champion accessibility and internationalization so interfaces serve diverse user needs, removing barriers for different languages and assistive technologies.
Instrument behavior to surface issues early, keeping dashboards honest and observant so teams can react quickly when problems appear.
Define and maintain interface standards, documenting patterns and decisions that help the team move faster without sacrificing quality.
Collaborate closely with data teams to ensure that state changes, events, and metrics reflect the intended user journeys and business outcomes accurately.
Support hiring and knowledge sharing by leading technical interviews, setting up onboarding materials, and helping junior engineers grow.
Evaluate new tools and frameworks, running small experiments to determine whether they provide real value for the product and the team.
Balance short term delivery with long term maintainability, choosing solutions that keep the codebase healthy and reduce future debt.
Communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders, aligning expectations and avoiding surprises during critical moments.
Requirements
You must have solid experience with JavaScript and TypeScript in realistic projects, with a portfolio that demonstrates complex applications you have built.
You must understand React deeply, including state logic, rendering behavior, component contracts, and the implications of different design choices.
You must know modern frontend workflows, bundlers, and version control practices, using them consistently in day to day work.
You must communicate clearly in English, shaping ideas without confusing abstraction and ensuring that technical concepts are understandable.
You must be comfortable working remotely, managing your time, and coordinating with a distributed LATAM team using digital tools.
You must care about clean code, readable interfaces, and sustainable development practices that support long term growth.
You must have experience collaborating with designers, product managers, and engineers to turn requirements into production ready solutions.
You must respect deadlines, communicate risks early, and take ownership of the problems you commit to solving.
