About the role
You will own the end-to-end data architecture strategy for our LATAM clients, defining target states and aligning them with business outcomes. You will design scalable and secure data platforms that support analytics, automation, and data-driven decision-making across diverse industries. You will partner with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into clear data models, pipelines, and governance frameworks. You will mentor junior architects and engineers, elevating the technical standards and data culture within each engagement. You will evaluate emerging data technologies and drive adoption where they deliver measurable business value. You will ensure that all solutions comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices for data management. You will communicate architectural vision effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, maintaining transparency and trust.

What you'll do
Define and lead the implementation of comprehensive data architecture roadmaps aligned with client business objectives.
Design and oversee the deployment of cloud-native data platforms, including data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming solutions.
Establish data governance, security, and compliance frameworks to protect information assets and meet regulatory obligations.
Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and product owners to translate business needs into robust data models and integration patterns.
Evaluate and recommend data tools and technologies, selecting best-of-breed components for storage, processing, and visualization.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and design standards to ensure clarity and continuity.
Lead proof-of-concept projects to validate architectural hypotheses and demonstrate potential value to stakeholders.
Monitor data platform performance, scalability, and reliability, driving optimization and cost-efficiency initiatives.
Partner with delivery teams to embed architectural practices into agile workflows, ensuring continuous alignment and quality.
Champion data literacy and enable teams through workshops, guidance, and hands-on support for data-related initiatives.
Act as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, providing thought leadership and strategic direction on data transformation journeys.
Drive the adoption of data operations practices to streamline monitoring, troubleshooting, and evolution of data ecosystems.
Contribute to the broader knowledge ecosystem by sharing insights, patterns, and lessons learned across Nortal's LATAM portfolio.
Support the delivery of high-quality data solutions on time and within scope, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term success.
Requirements
You possess a strong background in data architecture, with proven experience designing complex data solutions in enterprise environments.
You have deep expertise in data modeling, database design, and data integration patterns, including batch and streaming architectures.
You are proficient with major cloud platforms and their data services, understanding their strengths, limitations, and cost implications.
You demonstrate solid knowledge of data governance, security frameworks, and compliance standards relevant to data-driven organizations.
You have hands-on experience with modern data tools and technologies, including databases, data lakes, ETL/ELT pipelines, and analytics platforms.
You hold strong analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of breaking down intricate business problems into structured data strategies.
You communicate effectively in both written and verbal formats, articulating technical concepts to diverse audiences with clarity and precision.
You show a commitment to continuous learning, staying current with data architecture trends, tools, and methodologies in a fast-evolving landscape.
Nice to have
Experience working with regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or public sector, where data compliance is critical.
Familiarity with data virtualization, metadata management, and data quality tooling.
Knowledge of data visualization platforms and dashboard design principles.
Exposure to agile and DevOps practices in data delivery environments.
Practical notes
This is a remote role based in Latin America with flexible working arrangements.
Travel may be required occasionally for client visits or team gatherings.
Visa support may be provided depending on project location and candidate eligibility.
Candidates must be available to start within the next 4 to 6 weeks.
