PowerShell Engineer

About the role

Nexthink is seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join our Accelerate Services team. In this position, you will collaborate closely with our delivery consultants to conduct feasibility studies and design automation solutions that effectively address various infrastructure and system challenges faced by our clients. Your expertise in PowerShell and other scripting languages will be crucial in developing and maintaining automation scripts that enhance operational efficiency.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Assess and analyze requirements by thoroughly understanding the various parameters that influence and interact with the systems.
• Design, develop, and rigorously test automation scripts and modules intended for production environments.
• Create and maintain efficient workflows that streamline processes.
• Document all scripts and automation processes to ensure clarity and ease of use for future reference.
• Integrate PowerShell with diverse systems through APIs to enhance functionality and interoperability.
• Continuously maintain and improve existing legacy code while adding new features as necessary.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of automation solutions into existing infrastructure.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the automation process, ensuring minimal disruption to services.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of three years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on automation.
• Proficient in PowerShell scripting, particularly in large Windows infrastructure settings.
• Solid experience in Bash scripting within MacOS environments.
• Familiarity with APIs and webhooks is advantageous.
• Good command of Python scripting for automation tasks.
• Experience using modern development tools, such as Git, for version control.
• Ability to interface with various applications, including ServiceNow and other IT management tools.
• Experience developing PowerShell scripts for the Office 365 suite, including SharePoint, Teams, and Azure Active Directory.
