What you'll do
Build and maintain responsive web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks and component-based architectures. Collaborate with product and design teams to translate user needs into functional interface specifications. Write clean, well-tested code that follows established coding standards and best practices. Participate in code reviews to ensure quality and share knowledge across the engineering organization. Optimize application performance, accessibility, and usability for a diverse range of healthcare providers. Integrate front-end systems with back-end APIs and third-party services to deliver a cohesive user experience. Contribute to the design system and component library to promote consistency across products. Debug and resolve issues in production environments to maintain reliable service for end users. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance during implementation of new features. Evaluate and adopt new tools and approaches that improve developer productivity and product quality. Refactor legacy code modules to improve maintainability and reduce technical debt in the existing codebase. Write comprehensive documentation for front-end components, APIs, and architectural decisions to support onboarding and long-term maintenance.
Requirements
Experience building front-end applications using JavaScript, TypeScript, or a related language for at least five years. Familiarity with modern frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue in a production setting. Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles for cross-browser compatibility. Experience working with RESTful APIs or GraphQL to connect front-end interfaces with server-side services. Knowledge of version control systems, particularly Git, and standard branching and merging workflows. Ability to write and maintain unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end test suites. Strong communication skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams including designers and product managers. A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Comfortable working in an agile development environment with iterative sprints and regular release cycles. Demonstrated ability to take ownership of features from initial design through deployment and post-release monitoring.
Nice to have
Experience with healthcare or health technology domains and an understanding of relevant regulatory requirements. Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or Sketch to work effectively with UI designers. Exposure to cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines on platforms like AWS or Google Cloud. Background in building accessible applications that comply with WCAG guidelines and inclusive design practices. Prior experience with single-page applications and client-side routing using libraries like React Router or equivalent.
