What you'll do
- Lead the architectural design and development of scalable software solutions tailored to the healthcare sector, ensuring they meet both functional and non-functional requirements.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications and architectural designs.
- Evaluate existing systems and recommend enhancements or replacements to improve performance, security, and usability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of architectural designs, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and promoting best coding practices.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure our solutions remain competitive and compliant.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from initial concept through deployment and ongoing support, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions.
- Engage in troubleshooting and problem-solving to address technical challenges and optimize system performance.
- Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Champion a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging the exploration of new tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with quality assurance teams to define testing strategies and ensure that solutions are rigorously tested before deployment.
- Contribute to the development of training materials and user documentation to support end-users and enhance their experience with our software solutions.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Solution Architect or in a similar role within the software development field, ideally with a focus on healthcare applications.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices, with a track record of delivering successful projects.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, or Python, along with experience in web technologies and frameworks.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools, demonstrating an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, iterative development environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH) and data security best practices is highly desirable.
Nice to have
- Experience with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code.
- Familiarity with data modeling and database design, including experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Previous experience working in a remote team environment, demonstrating adaptability and self-motivation.
- Certifications in relevant technologies or methodologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, TOGAF) would be a plus.
