About the role

Newel Health is seeking a dedicated DevOps Engineer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in enhancing our software development lifecycle by implementing and managing CI/CD pipelines, automating processes, and ensuring the reliability of our infrastructure. What you'll do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and reliable infrastructure using cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Develop and manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software development process, ensuring rapid and reliable code deployment.
• Automate system configurations and deployments using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet to enhance operational efficiency.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively to ensure high availability and reliability of applications.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps practices into the software development lifecycle, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Implement security best practices throughout the development and deployment processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Maintain documentation for infrastructure, processes, and procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity within the team.
• Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for production systems and respond to incidents as they arise.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to continuously enhance our DevOps practices and tools.
• Work closely with product management and stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Facilitate training sessions and workshops to promote DevOps methodologies and tools among team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in a DevOps or similar role, with a proven track record of managing cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Ruby for automation tasks.
• Strong experience with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack to ensure system health and performance.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols, including DNS, TCP/IP, and HTTP/S.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with version control systems, particularly Git, to manage code changes and collaborate with developers.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile development environments.

Nice to have

• Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure DevOps Engineer, etc.) are a plus.
• Experience with serverless architectures and microservices design patterns.
• Familiarity with database management systems (SQL and NoSQL) and data storage solutions.
• Previous experience in a healthcare technology environment is advantageous.
• Understanding of compliance standards such as HIPAA or GDPR related to data security and privacy.
