About the role
New Relic is seeking a Senior Solution Consultant to join our global team and drive the adoption of our observability platform. You will act as a technical advisor for enterprise prospects and existing customers, bridging the gap between complex system challenges and our software solutions. This role requires a balance of business acumen and technical expertise to secure technical wins and meet sales targets. You will own the technical narrative for our most strategic accounts, translating intricate platform capabilities into clear business outcomes. The position demands a consultative mindset to uncover latent needs and position New Relic as an indispensable partner in digital transformation. You will leverage deep product knowledge to de-risk purchase decisions for stakeholders and influence multi-threaded buying organizations. Success in this role is defined by your ability to synthesize complex information and articulate a compelling vision for operational excellence. You will be instrumental in closing the loop between discovery, design, and validation to ensure customer success from onboarding through maturity.

What you'll do
- Lead technical discovery workshops to identify client pain points and business requirements.
- Develop and deliver product demonstrations, presentations, and technical proofs to align our platform with customer goals.
- Partner with Sales Account Executives to manage the technical aspects of the sales cycle for new logos and account expansions.
- Create and execute pilot engagements and proof-of-concept projects to demonstrate measurable value.
- Address and resolve technical objections from stakeholders ranging from IT staff to C-level executives.
- Provide feedback to Product Management regarding feature requests and market trends.
- Collaborate with the broader account team to refine sales strategies and share best practices.
- Support marketing efforts through industry events, user groups, and executive briefings.
- Conduct in-depth architecture reviews to map current state environments and future state ambitions.
- Translate complex technical metrics into actionable insights for non-technical decision-makers.
- Design and tailor value propositions specific to the regulatory and competitive pressures of the Australian market.
- Act as a subject matter expert during competitive engagements to articulate differential advantages.
- Facilitate cross-functional alignment between Product, Engineering, and Sales to ensure solution viability.
- Drive the adoption of New Relic platform features through enablement sessions and knowledge transfer.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in pre-sales or similar customer-facing technical roles.
- Proficiency in monitoring and observability, including AWS, GCP, Azure, DevOps, CI/CD, AIOps, logging, and data visualization.
- Development experience in one or more of the following: Java, .NET, Ruby, C/C++, Python, JavaScript, React.
- Deep understanding of cloud architecture, networking, Infrastructure as Code, and serverless computing.
- Experience working with enterprise customers in sectors such as Digital Natives, E-commerce, Retail, Healthcare, Media, Telco, Financial Services, Gaming, or Hospitality.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Demonstrated success managing complex sales cycles involving multiple technical stakeholders.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify sophisticated concepts.
- Proven track record of building trust and credibility with technical and executive audiences.
- Experience navigating and influencing within matrixed organizational structures.
- Sound judgment in maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive client information.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to adhere to New Relic methodologies, processes, and quality standards.
- Commitment to maintaining current knowledge of observability trends and technological advancements.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with open source technologies including Prometheus, Grafana, Opencensus, and ELK.
