Director, Product Management: Pricing and Monetization
New Relic is a global collective of innovators shaping the future of observability. We architect an intelligent platform that delivers unparalleled insight into complex systems, enabling companies to thrive in an AI-first world. As we expand our global footprint, we are seeking passionate pioneers to join our mission. If you are ready to help the world's best companies optimize their digital applications, explore a career with us.
Your opportunity is to architect pricing and monetization for New Relic. You will own the strategy that balances revenue goals with customer value. This role demands data rigor, financial discipline, and executive presence to guide portfolio decisions across our AI and observability portfolios.
What you'll do includes designing list prices, discount curves, and price multiples for current and future AI and Compute Capacity Units offerings. You will build comprehensive financial models tracking COGS, revenue forecasts, and gross margin impact to guide sustainable packaging choices. You will create transition frameworks, the "carrots and sticks," to move legacy customers smoothly to new pricing structures. Guarding the effectiveness of the CCU meter is essential to ensure it remains competitive, drives adoption, and expands revenue in observability markets. Analyzing consumption patterns and market signals will allow you to recommend adjustments that align value, adoption, and profitability. You will champion pricing clarity for engineers, executives, and customers to ensure transparent understanding of metering and tiers. Partnering with sales and delivery teams to refine packaging, discount policies, and migration support across key accounts is a core duty. Owning cross-functional influence to align stakeholders on pricing rules, metrics, and rollout plans under fast-growth conditions completes the scope of this role.
This role requires 10+ years of product management experience in SaaS or cloud infrastructure, with 6+ years leading other product managers. You must demonstrate a history of owning consumption-based pricing, monetization strategy, billing infrastructure, or metering at enterprise scale. Clear written and verbal communication skills are required to translate vision for technical teams, leadership, and customer audiences. The ability to balance complex quantitative analysis with user empathy, guided by a data-first mindset in fast-moving contexts, is critical. You must influence cross-functional partners and executives in high-growth, dynamic environments with consistent follow-through.
