Key facts
What you'll do
- Engage in the design and execution of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits, managing the entire process from initial concept through to layout and final verification.
- Innovate circuit architectures and devise transistor-level solutions to tackle challenges related to noise, distortion, power efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
- Formulate and implement a verification strategy for specific components of integrated circuits, performing advanced simulations and analyses to evaluate power, performance, and yield metrics.
- Design, program, and conduct comprehensive tests, while also reviewing tests carried out by colleagues to effectively identify and resolve issues.
- Collaborate closely with team members to brainstorm and refine circuit design concepts, contributing to a culture of innovation and problem-solving.
- simulation tools to model circuit behavior and predict performance under various conditions, ensuring designs meet required specifications.
- Participate in design reviews, providing insights and feedback to enhance circuit designs and improve overall project outcomes.
- Document design processes and results meticulously, ensuring that all findings are communicated clearly to the team and stakeholders.
Requirements
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in analog or mixed-signal CMOS circuit design, specifically in areas such as delta-sigma ADCs, SAR ADCs, DACs, VCOs, PLLs, DLLs, audio CODECs, Class D audio amplifiers, high-speed PHY, or SERDES, with a demonstrated record of silicon validation.
- At least 3 months of hands-on experience applying technical skills in practical settings, such as labs, research projects, extracurricular activities, open-source contributions, or prior internships.
- Candidates should exhibit strong analytical skills and a genuine passion for tackling new engineering challenges.
- A solid understanding of circuit design principles and the ability to apply them creatively in real-world scenarios.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present ideas clearly.
- A proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
Nice to have
- Experience in scripting and automation to streamline complex simulation tasks.
- Background in conducting laboratory tests on high-precision analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits.
- Familiarity with functional modeling and logic verification using Verilog AMS and SystemVerilog.
- Knowledge of design and layout processes involving advanced CMOS FinFET technologies.
- Understanding of design considerations necessary for high-volume production environments.
- Previous involvement in projects that required innovative problem-solving and critical thinking.

- The hourly wage for this internship is set at $35, in compliance with California labor regulations.
