Key facts
What you'll do
- Develop sophisticated layouts for a variety of mixed-signal and analog circuits, which encompass amplifiers, filters, switched capacitor circuits, oscillators, data converters, and power management systems.
- Work closely with circuit design engineers to evaluate layout floorplans and perform in-depth analyses of high-fidelity circuits to ensure optimal performance.
- Execute thorough physical verification processes for custom IC mask layouts, including checks for layout versus schematic (LVS), design rule checks (DRC), and electrical rule checks (ERC).
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to enhance the quality and efficiency of circuit layouts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate layout designs with system-level requirements and specifications.
- Troubleshoot layout issues and implement effective solutions to enhance circuit performance and reliability.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in IC layout design techniques and tools to continuously improve design methodologies.
- Document layout design processes and maintain records to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in the design of analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit layouts.
- At least 1 year of practical experience working with FinFET technology, demonstrating a solid understanding of its implications on layout design.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proven track record of identifying and implementing effective solutions in complex design scenarios.
- Familiarity with industry-standard IC design tools and methodologies, showcasing a comprehensive understanding of the layout design process.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Nice to have
- Experience with programming or scripting languages such as SKILL, TCL, Shell, C/C++, or Python, which can enhance automation and efficiency in layout design tasks.
- Proven expertise in creating analog and mixed-signal layouts that achieve stringent specifications for matching, noise performance, and power efficiency.
- Knowledge of common failure-prone circuit and layout structures, enabling proactive design strategies to mitigate potential issues.
- Experience with analog design for manufacturability (DFM) standards and the design and implementation of layout parameterized cells (P-cells).
- A background in layout automation techniques, which can streamline the design process and improve overall productivity.

- Proficiency in using analog and mixed-signal IC layout design software tools, demonstrating a strong command of the necessary technologies to execute high-quality designs.
- A solid understanding of physical verification processes and standards, ensuring that all designs meet the required specifications and regulatory guidelines.
- Familiarity with layout optimization techniques and methodologies to enhance circuit performance and manufacturability.
Practical notes
- The anticipated salary range for this position is between $83,000 and $139,000 USD, contingent upon your qualifications, experience, and educational background.
