Senior Solutions Engineer

About the role

You will own the technical articulation of Neo4j's value proposition for Public Sector customers across India, shaping solution designs that address complex government requirements around security, scalability, and compliance. You will act as the primary technical advisor for Government Ministries, Public Sector Undertakings, Defence, Smart Cities, and Law Enforcement entities, translating their mission outcomes into graph-based architecture. In this capacity, you will partner closely with Enterprise Account Executives and ecosystem partners to co-create compelling, explainable, and governed AI solutions that demonstrate clear business value. You will drive the adoption of graph technology within some of the country's most critical and regulated initiatives by delivering context-rich intelligence that accelerates decision-making. You will support the development of joint go-to-market initiatives with hyperscalers and strategic integrators to reinforce Neo4j's position in the public domain. You will engage deeply with stakeholder ecosystems, ensuring that regulatory and procurement landscapes are thoroughly understood and addressed in every solution narrative. Ultimately, you will be responsible for turning complex data relationships into actionable knowledge that influences strategic investment and modernization programs.

What you'll do

Serve as the primary technical advisor for Public Sector opportunities across India, guiding solution strategy from initial discovery through to implementation.

Engage with senior government stakeholders, technical teams, and procurement organizations to understand strategic initiatives and align Neo4j solutions to mission outcomes.

Support the development of solution architectures that robustly address government requirements around security, scalability, compliance, and data sovereignty.

Interpret complex Request for Proposal (RFP) and Request for Information (RFI) documents, ensuring Neo4j's value proposition is clearly articulated and technically sound.

Collaborate with ecosystem partners including System Integrators and consultancies to build cohesive, end-to-end solutions for government programs.

Leverage Neo4j's knowledge graph and AI capabilities to design explainable and governed solutions that meet the unique demands of public sector data.

Coordinate with global technology partners such as hyperscalers (AWS, Azure, GCP) to validate integration and deployment strategies for graph platforms.

Demonstrate how graph intelligence can drive quicker results, contextual knowledge, and measurable impact across government operations and citizen services.

Participate in proof-of-concept initiatives and technical validations that showcase Neo4j's performance, resilience, and scalability in realistic public sector environments.

Contribute to thought leadership and domain expertise by engaging with Neo4j's wider graph community and supporting reference customer programs.

Help define and refine the commercial and technical narratives that enable large-scale adoption of graph technology within highly regulated sectors.

Work closely with sales and presales teams to build compelling, value-based narratives that resonate with public sector decision-makers.

Act as an internal advocate for customer insights, feeding market feedback into product and platform discussions to enhance future solutions.

Drive the articulation of return on investment and total cost of ownership arguments tailored to public sector budgeting and procurement cycles.

Requirements

You possess a strong technical background with experience in graph databases, data architecture, or enterprise solution design relevant to public sector challenges.

You have demonstrated success engaging with complex, multi stakeholder environments typical of government and public sector organizations.

You hold the ability to interpret and respond to formal procurement processes, RFPs, and RFIs while maintaining strict adherence to compliance requirements.

You bring experience in developing solution architectures that emphasize security, scalability, data sovereignty, and regulatory compliance.

You are comfortable working with emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and knowledge graphs to design explainable and governed intelligent systems.

You have a proven track record of collaborating with hyperscalers and global technology partners to deliver integrated solutions in regulated sectors.

You exhibit strong consultative selling skills, capable of aligning technical capabilities with high-level public sector objectives and mission outcomes.

You hold excellent communication skills, enabling you to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders across hierarchical and cultural contexts.

Nice to have

Preferred experience working with Public Sector customers in India, particularly within Government, Defence, or Smart City programs.

Familiarity with Neo4j implementations in scenarios involving large-scale data integration, real-time decisioning, and AI-driven insights.

Understanding of ecosystem partners such as TCS, Infosys, LTIMindtree, Wipro, HCLTech, Tech Mahindra, and EY, and prior collaboration within similar engagements.

Practical notes

This role is based in Delhi (preferred) and offers remote flexibility across India, with travel requirements as dictated by customer and partner needs.
